Re: Bagless?

Doesn't bother me though I don't use the foot switch. If I did it would either be carried a gig bag with other accessories or mounted to a pedal board. I do miss the heavy vinyl amp covers and thicker plywood head cabinets.

Old DC-5 Owner with Express 5:50 Plus Looking for Opinions

I've owned and gigged with DC amps, mainly the 10 and 5, for years and I am currently using my DC-5 head all the time. At a music store recently I tried out a PRS DGT through an Express 5:50 Plus combo. I quickly bonded with the amp, and guitar but that didn't make it home with me, yet. I don't need...

Re: Scored DC-5. Why are they so loud?!?!?

Common complaint but I treat mine like the output level doesn't exist by keeping it turned up around half way and adjusting the levels at the channel masters. It occurred to me after getting the Express 5:50 plus, which doesn't have the output master, that I don't need one and to just leave it turne...

Thanks. I don't need it now but it's nice to have just in case.

Re: Anyone use a boss gt 100 with the dc5?

I've been using a GT-100, previously a GT-10, with DC 3, 5 and 10 for years at gigs with great success. Serial FX loop mod.

FYI Rev Bs do not have a Reverb switching jack
Weird. My Rev B DC-5 does. I guess the DC-3 is different.

The jack for reverb switching should be on the back panel. If not there look under the chassis for a jack.

Re: DC-3 Loop Mod Schematic

Hi Guys, Recently I bought a DC-3, I'm having an issue when running effects in the loop. I picked up a Boss GT-100 and i've been mesing around with. When using the "4 Cable method" or going directly from the GT-100 into the effects return of the DC-3 an Oscillation occurs. It's like the sound of a ...

Re: Do you use a ME 70 or similar multi with youre DC series

The only MFX I've used in my DC's loop was the GT-10 and now GT-100. You will probably want to do the series loop mod for best results. I run my DC-5 4CM with great results. I've owned a DC-3 and DC-10 and they work just as well once the FX loop is series.

Eminence Swamp Thang or Texas Heat Opinions

Has anyone tried either of these speakers with a DC or Mark series amp before? What were you're opinions? I don't play metal. Mostly clean through heavy crunch. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. I see the -49v at two 150k resistors in series. I'll check the health of the resistors and solder, after draining any voltage.

Very loud hum/buzz during a gig - standby on/off stopped it

This last weekend during a gig my Mesa DC-5 started a very loud hum/buzz, similar to the sound of a guitar cord plugged into an amp and the other end touching something metal but it was quite loud. I turned the amp to standby then back on again and it was alright again though it did act up one other...

Re: DC5 with an EVM...

I love the EVM12L with my DC-5 but I use heads now with separate cabinets. One 1x12, one 2x12 each with EVM12Ls depending on the room and stage space. When I had a DC-3 combo I had a 300 watt EVM12L loaded and that was silly heavy for a 30 watt amp. BlackBoxy, not everyone wants or even likes speake...

Re: Signature guitars for everyone!

Trophies for everyone and no student can fail drive me nuts. As for guitar signature guitars, I'm a PRS fan and while I get having a Santana signature model they also have one for Orianthi. She's cute, plays well, I actually like her but is she at a level of notoriety that warrants having a signatur...

Re: Nova Drive???

I don't recall having a noise problem and I don't use noise suppressors but I'm not a real high gain player either. Most I get into gain wise is 80's metal. The Nova Drive does have it's own sound which can be heard throughout the different patches. You either like it or you don't. I found it very w...
