Re: Road Case for Mark IV Short Head

I saw that one, unfortunately that one is too big for a short head. I may have found one though!

By chance does anyone have any experience with Affordable Cases?

Road Case for Mark IV Short Head

Does anyone know where I can purchase a road case for a Mark IV short head? A quick search on the Googles and eBays has not yielded much.

Thanks!

Re: Mark IV Problem - Volume Drop & Tube Questions

Just a quick update. Back from the shop. Turns out it needed a replacement resistor in the drive stage. Back up and running, sounds fantastic. :)

Now I have a mystery issue with my TriAxis/2:90 rig... Oy vay.

Re: Mark IV Problem - Volume Drop & Tube Questions

Well... I guess I can safely say it's not the tubes. Just installed all new tubes and the volume issue is still there. And the output I do get from any channel is fuzzy and brittle.

Any other thoughts on what might be going on? :(

Re: The Mark IV thread....!!

Hi everyone. Got an issue with my Mark IV and I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction. I created a thread outside of this one. Basically, my volume dropped considerably across the board, gain channel also sounds like it's crapping out, and now the signal seems sort of intermittent...

Mark IV Problem - Volume Drop & Tube Questions

Acquired a Mark IV roughly 4 months ago. Got it used, and the prior owner had no idea when the tubes were last changed. But it worked and sounded kickass ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qkuxind8E7A ;)). Up til today that is. Fired it up, and found the volume across the board is just gone, like bare...

New Amp Day: Mesa Mark IV

Hey all. I'm a longtime TriAxis/2:90 owner and I've been looking to score a Mark series head for quite a while as a "home" rig. After quite a bit of wheeling and dealing, this one made it home- Mesa Mark IV rev. A. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o251/project_dc1/2013-06-07175544_zps8d529911.jpg ...

Yeah I had seen that on eBay and hoped someone here had some experience with them. Guess I'll scoop it up.

For the record, my god is the Mark IV an AWESOME amp!

Re: Footswtich for a Mark IV Rev. A

Thanks. I just found it there after I saw your reply. Yikes. Price is a little steep! Are there any decent, more affordable aftermarket switches out there?

Footswtich for a Mark IV Rev. A

Hi all. Just scored a great deal on a Mark IV head, but alas, it does not come with a footswitch. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good switch? Also, can the Rev. A switch handle the EQ and Effects loop as well, or was that new to the Rev. B?

Thanks folks!

Mesa 2:90 Troubles

Hey everyone. Hoping you guys can help me out with some Mesa 2:90 issues I'm having.

I noticed recently that my TriAxis/2:90 rig started sounding a little "flubby", almost like engaging a wah pedal, just a lot of low-mid range in the sound. It wasn't just one setting on the TriAxis, it seemed to be across the board. Narrowing it down to my 2:90.

A quick word about my 2:90. The B-side has never worked on it. I got it used about 5 or so years ago, and it's just never worked. Recently, I've noticed that the presence knob on the B-side actually adds quite a bit of hum to my A-side when it's turned all the way up. Hard to avoid when Mesa instructs you to turn the volume down and the presence up on the B-side when not in use.

Anyway, I noticed one of the A-side tubes on the 2:90 was glowing blue rather than orange. Thought that was a little odd and could be the likely culprit.

So I wwapped out one from the B-side over to that one that was glowing blue on the A-side. Sure enough, my rig sounded awesome. Back to normal.

Jammed for 10 minutes when suddenly my output started to fizz out. Almost like my battery was dying on the EMGs or something. Then I smell hot air.

I look behind the rig and those two tubes I swapped were glowing f%&# RED and they were HOT. So I turned the thing off quick.

Any recommendations on what is going on, and what I can do to resolve it?

Thanks everyone.

Ahhh that's a good idea! Cool beans!

Alternatively, if one side's tubes start to go, could I switch to the other side until a retube?
