Re: Maverick weight

Heavier than most amp its size. I have Maverick 2x12 combo and its heavier than my Vox AC30. For me, its MESA finest no-nonsense blues amp. You have option of selecting tube rectifier or solid state rectifier unlike its predecessor which has rectifier switching (when you select your power wattage, r...

Was the reverb working before you cleaned up the amp's tube sockets?

Re: PRS SANTANA HUMBUCKERS

I'm not sure what PRS pickups uses on the Santana model. Your guess (Google search) is good as mine. But I do suggest staying with PRS pickups easy to wire on the PC board mounting switch compared to aftermarket pickups. I installed Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates and was getting an out-phase-tone on th...

Re: MkIIC+ Preamp clipping distortion, troubleshooting tips?

I don't know if what you experience is what I experience with my friend's Zinky amp. I was playing a 4x12" with four 16 ohm Celetion Vintage 30s speakers wired in parallel - series for a 16 ohm load. We got this fizzy distortion. The setting on the Zinky was 16 ohm load. So I wired the 4x12 all in p...

Re: Mk IIB lead channel question

I'm not sure if I could answer your question but I would like to mentioned Mark I, II uses "cascading gain". The lead channel uses the gain (preamp tube) from the "rhythm channel". The lead channel is not independent from the "Rhythm Channel".

Yeah, that particular logo plate is not available but why not get the same one that;s was on your DC5 has? Those are available at the Boogie on-line store.

There is a custom logo builder on E-Bay Far East, Send them your file from CorelDRAW app.

Re: TV Jones Pickups on a Gretch

Yup, I prefer the stock Filtertron too. For the record the TV Jones is "Magnatron" so not sure how the other TV Jones compared. For my taste the TV Jones was too clean, bright but Filtertron was more Gretsch like how I prefer them. I too want a Gretsch but can't afford "White Falcon" or "Chet Atkins...

Re: Took me 35 years to get a Marshall..now I have two.

So you have a JCM800 and Super Lead. So basically you have 2 of the 3 Marshall classic amps, my favorites. The trifecta would be a Marshall Blues Breaker or JTM45 and you are set.

Re: TremOVerb Combo Speakers: Vin30 + C 90

How'd you like those two MESA's? Other than a Mark IIB my TremoVerb and Maverick are keepers for me. I sold my other Mesa amps. Do you find these two amp are different tone wise but very similar in design e.g. two channels, each with two modes, solid state rectifier / tube rectifiers selector? Enoug...

Re: Does my Road King need servicing? (video showing potential issue)

This is normal. Unless we both are experiences the same problem. The tone controls are interactive. When you lower the treble, the mids and bass will receive more signal and visa versa. Why the design this way is for flexibility. You could have a various settings that makes this amp sound completely...
