Re: 2C in Triode

Ya know, I never tried it in the IV Mode! I guess I always associated Triode with the 2C Mode because of what the manual said. But man, that mode could use some Pull Deep. I guess they wanted each Mode in that amp to be different for the most tones possible. Although the IV Mode has more gain and co...

2C in Triode

The Manual says that all 2C's were hard wired in Triode. I assume this meant all Simul-Class versions? I also assume that only 1 pair of power tubes were in Triode? Anyhoo, I really like how you can nail harmonics at will in Triode. The sound is pure midrange. However, in Triode, you can't get it to...

Re: 2C Mode Coupling Cap Mod.

That analogy is lame.. 12AT7's have no gain. They make a circuit biased for 12AX7's sound dull and with less volume.. If Boogie wanted that tube they would have specified it..

Re: 2C Mode Coupling Cap Mod.

Thanks for everyone's efforts . If the V 2C is not the same as the original, then it's a let down that Boogie claims it's reissue worthy and your original is dirt; which is apparently not the case.

2C Mode Coupling Cap Mod.

The manual states that 70% of 2C's had the Graphic, yet they still put in the smaller Coupling Cap from the non graphic to represent .. FAIL...

Every 2C+ whore complains about the feel and tone of the original, all because of a simple Cap.. Who has a schematic?

Simul-Class biasing.

What's the percentage of bias on the Class A spots on a Simul-Class rig?

If for example the Class AB tubes are at 60%, what percent dissipation are the A spots? OR, what percentage separates the 2 classes?

Has anyone done a bias mod on this amp?

I recorded all 3-channels in this clip.

I always liked this song, so I did a short backing for it. I had video running, but a cheap webcam combined with low light made it look like I was playing in slow motion, so no video.. But, I did track it live. You can hear me switch channels with the footswitch. I used all 3 channels of the Mark V....

Re: Here's some Mark V lead tone.

My settings won't do much good if you're not running my speakers, and guitar, ect... I can give you some tip tho. Try to get your bass from the graphic. Run the bass knob somewhere around 9:00-11:00. You can get more perceived bass by dropping the 750 slider a bit. I think the bright is to much on t...

Here's some Mark V lead tone.

Set on Mark IV. I'm getting some great thick harmonic sustain. I'm diggin' it.
