Re: Plate Voltage TC-50

Research vacuum tube bias and idle plate current. Also research cross over distortion. The above conversation refers to the idle plate current, or bias setting on vacuum tubes. A byproduct of power tubes is heat, the more power (current) you push through the tube the hotter it runs. If you run them ...

Re: Mini Recto 25 Ch.2 Vintage/Modern Gain Difference

Sounds normal to me, that has been my experience with any Rectifier series amp I have played, and I’ve played them for almost two decades.

This is mostly due to the increased sensitivity in the power section when in Modern mode.

Re: FX Loop light on my Mark V ON all the time

There should be a switch on the back right beside the send/return jacks. Check your channel volumes first though because they become the “final” volume control for each channel because the Output and Solo controls are also bypassed. +1 Also try the different FX Loop settings and see if they work co...

Re: Mixing Str420 and Str440 6L6 GC tubes

Quick question...I've search this board and can't find an answer so I hope to find some help asap. I needed to replace tubes 2 and 3 on my DR. Just went to the store and bought a matched set of 6L6 GC STR440. Come home to put them in and see that the other 2 tubes in the amp are 6L6 GC STR 420. Now...

Re: FX Loop light on my Mark V ON all the time

Hi guys, I have a minor issue with my Mark V 90. The FX loop light on the right side of the amp seems to be ON all the time, even when the FX loop is not engaged . Has anyone faced this kind of issue before ? When I DO engage the FX Loop , the light just gets a bit brighter. I don't have a tech nea...

Is there any chance it's just the power tools I've already ordered a new set which I was going to do anyways
Wondering how you are making out with the amp? Have you had a tech look into this?

Re: Two Channel Triple Rectifier - bypass loop or loop on

Hi everyone, I own a two channel Triple Rectifier rev. G from 1999. I use the bypass loop on. It's a little annoying when You need to put the amp in stand by and move both the channel master pots all the way down and then again try to set them back all the times and try to get no volume diferences....

Re: TC-50 Guidance

......... Question - Does the date hand written on your chassis coincide relatively near the date of purchase? I bought mine 2 months ago and the date shows 2017. I find this very unusual. Thanks. I bought my amp in Jan ‘19 & it has a 6/14/18 build date. It was a demo, but is flawless. I don’t reca...

Amptweaker Effects

Has anyone else tried their effects? I have the De-Fizzerator and DepthFinder, and both deliver as advertised. I’m using them at the end of my FX Loop chain as a ‘Final EQ’. I’m getting much better results tweaking the bottom and top end compared to a Graphic EQ. These things make my TC-100 ROAR. Th...

Re: TC-50 Guidance

There is definitely post track processing and multi layer guitar tracks, but the core TC tone is there. If you find the bottom end a bit anemic try an Amptweaker Depth Finder in the FX Loop. Makes a huge difference, I love mine. It really fills in the missing lows, especially for someone like me who...

Re: Triple rectifier no input or channel select.

If there was already a problem with the channel switching I doubt this is just power tubes. It’s possible that there is a bad preamp tube in there that is dragging down the power to the switching matrix, but we are just speculating. Did the amp work correctly when you first got it? I have no idea wh...

Re: Roadster power tube options

So I see Mesa lists the STR-445 as from Slovakia, that would indeed make them JJ.

Good to see the new offerings from Mesa.

Re: Roadster power tube options

If you want something a bit different, you may want to try the Mesa STR445 which is the JJ6L6 tube........ Are you 100% certain of this? Looking at the picture of the STR-445 on the Mesa Store and the plate structure looks different than the JJ’s. Have you confirmed this with tubes side by side?
