Re: Fender guy here, went with a LSC to pair with my DRRI

I’ve been playing a Kotzen Telecaster with fresh strings (2x a month) for all of my testing of this amp. I’m loving the bell like tones. The middle pickup tone is amazing on this guitar. (As well as the neck pickup tones) I guess it’s time to put the Tele away and try my Baby....a deluxe Strat I bou...

Re: Fender guy here, went with a LSC to pair with my DRRI

My neighbors want to kill me. This 2x12 has bass! I’m using the manual and factory recommended settings (channel 1) and am loving this amp! I’d like to sharpen up the tone a bit but the more rounded sounds are nice compared to my Fender. Now who doesn’t buy a brand new toy and rave and rave about it...

Re: LOnestar Clean vs Fender

I just bought a Lonestar classic to run in stereo along with a 68 Custom deluxe Reverb. (Not a black face but in the neighborhood) I’m only a week in big will say that this amp does NOT sound like a fender. It sounds like a Mesa Boogie and it’s in its own world. Similar? Well, yes and no. I am heari...

Re: Fender guy here, went with a LSC to pair with my DRRI

Cool, I’ve watched YouTube and have seen many that prefer the tone at 100 watts. I just put a fresh set of strings on my telecaster and plan to give the amp a test ride tomorrow. Fresh strings stretching out now..(Kotzen Telecaster—-noisy as hell but dam the tone is worth it—)

Re: Fender guy here, went with a LSC to pair with my DRRI

Thanks, the seller gave me a manual and I’ve read the online manual many times. I’m really excited to take it for a spin but the doctor says no guitar for at least one more week. It’s killing me! (Rotator cuff surgery) The seller was asking 1000 and mentioned that GC had the same amp for 1100 (plus ...

Fender guy here, went with a LSC to pair with my DRRI

Hey all, I’m the kind of guy that buys guitars/amps and keep them a long long time. It takes me years to bond with an amp and once i’m there I stay. So my last purchase was a 68 Custom Fender Deluxe Reverb (reissue) and I am hooked. I like it so much I wanted to buy another to run in stereo. Buying ...

Re: Recto-Verb or Stiletto ACE

The internet has a habit of bringing the worst out of people, and I'll just ingore the "worst ever" amp comment if you ignore my *&%$ calling.. Lets step back and have a laugh instead of getting silly---Chances are our discussions would be very different in person. I bet an RoV and Stilletto in the ...

Re: Recto-Verb or Stiletto ACE

Tone is totally subjective.... I tried a Rectoverb and quite honestly though it was one of the worst amps I ever played. My guitar hated it too. Does that mean it is not a great amp? No.... not at all.... it only means it's not the amp I want. Go try them and decide for yourself. I agree that tone ...

Re: User review:Rectoverb combo...2 years after purchase.

Im using EL34's....no good when cranked. I actually spoke with the Mesa folks and they explained that the rectifier amps dont get their magic from cranking the tubes like many amps do. Actually, this is a blessing. I dont have the chance to play at "11" very often anyway. But I do get some dam good...

Re: Recto-Verb or Stiletto ACE

The best answer is to play both, listen, then decide. With the music you mention and the way you'll be playing, I'd go with the rectoverb. Very versatile, great blues sound, and all the great distortion you could ever want. I love my rectoverb and could have purchased ANY of the Mesa's....(I tried a...

Re: User review:Rectoverb combo...2 years after purchase.

I'm part of the "Sold my Rect-o-verb and now regret it" club. I now have a 2x12 Roadster combo which is an amazing amp too, and in theory should do all the things the Rect-o-verb did (and then some!) - yet I still find myself wishing I had the Rect-o-verb on the other end of the patch chord instead...

Re: User review:Rectoverb combo...2 years after purchase.

I second the need for you to do a video review. Excellent review. I hear ya on the versatility and variety. I'm newer to boogies. I briefly had a tremoverb about a year ago, I loved it, but it was overkill for me. I actually traded it for a 59 bassman reissue, AND a 1985 JCM800 2204. Loved the bass...

Re: User review:Rectoverb combo...2 years after purchase.

great review. how bout a video review! I would be interested to hear/see that. Man, I've thought about this many time, but cannot capture the tone with my cheap computer camera/mic... I know this is a very complicated subject, but how can I record these tones to share? Shure 57 mic to computer? Han...
