Re: Now that the JP2C has been out a while...

Actually bandit, it's irrelevant if the commands overlap or not, just set the amps to different midi channels and use a goodish quality controller to switch both or 3 or whatever. Which actually is a good segue into why I logged into the forum tonight... Does anyone know (I could not find it in the ...

Re: Cabinet Pairing with JP-2C

I wonder if mesa would make a 1x12 ported cab in cream bronco with the cream & tan jute to match my jp2c? And I was kind of attracted to the new celestion "copper" 250w neo speaker that came out at namm, would be nice to have a high power handling grab and go that didn't have a 19lb speaker in it.

Re: Reverb circuit

I just got my jp2c last week and only last night did I confirm that indeed the reverb circuit comes before the effects loop, normally I would find this intolerable, and it is a real bummer if you want to throw up a noise gate to live full time in the loop (as this will kill your reverb tails). But I...

NAD Cream Bronco with Cream Tan Jute Grill

I have been dreaming of getting one of these since they were announced and I finally took delivery today! I have only had the opportunity to play it at bedroom levels but I am still completely floored with how great it sounds! The reverb is blowing my socks off and the fact that all 3 channels sound...

Re: Mark V owner review of JP-2C (multi page post)

Well my JP2c showed up at the UPS pickup today and after I got my daughter to sleep I went ahead an hooked it up. HOLY CHRIST!!!!!! I am just playing at bedroom levels in my apartment at night on my homemade 4x8+12 cab and I am next to tears with how damn good this baby sounds!!! The reverb is freak...

Re: Mark V owner review of JP-2C (multi page post)

Some people report that running the top of the halfback open with a nice alnico like the celestion alnico cream or fane axa, with the evm12L in the ported bottom still... I may try that or perhaps a jensen blackbird or the wsg version which is supposedly less dark. (did I read you had used a blackbi...

Re: Mark V owner review of JP-2C (multi page post)

Oddly the halfback I am looking at has evm12L black shadows bottom & top both, still for the money I don't think I can go wrong. If only I weren't so attracted to the 2x12 vert in cream bronco with brown corners, handle, and cream&tan jute grill. Still I don't know if I am $600 dollars attracted, es...

Re: Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

According to the manual it's really going to operate optimally at 8 ohms, so if you have a good 8ohm cab or feel like doing some soldering you could also try for that.

Re: Mark V owner review of JP-2C (multi page post)

Please excuse the bump, just read the entire 9 page thread. Thank you so much for documenting all of this. I have been dying to get my mits on a jp2c since they were announced. And I finally ordered one in white bronco, which will arrive by Tuesday. So I am trolling the jp2c forums trying to learn w...

Re: Ready to return the JP (last ditch effort here)

I am suspicious about if you might have an impedance mismatch (between cab and head) happening based on your description of the issue. Some impedance mismatches can cause a very serious loss of potential volume and or negatively affect tone at higher volumes. Also as I mentioned earlier don't be afr...

Re: Cabinet Pairing with JP-2C

Thanks for the reply, I will check that listing out. My rocket 44 is technically a mark circuit amp and it's half open with a c90, I have no problem with the sound, but I will probably be auditioning some closed back stuff, I was considering a port city cab as well (os 2x12). I also saw a 70s sunn 4...

Re: JP2c bedroom volumes?

yeah if you get the perfect tone at bedroom levels then try bringing up mids to compensate when you play loud as the fletcher munson curve will dictate that the highs and lows get louder faster than the mids as you increase volume.

Re: Cabinet Pairing with JP-2C

Sorry to resurrect this thread a year later but I am hoping for some feedback. So I just ordered a jp2c which will be here next week. This will be my 3rd mesa, I had a trem-o-verb dual rec 2x12 combo which I sold many years ago for a large PA system (a decision I sorely regret), and I currently have...
