Re: Mark IIA In For Service, Any Mods?

I had Mike rework the 3 volume knobs to have a smoother taper. I wanted the master to work better without the volume coming on so fast.

Re: Incarnations of the Mark 1 amp?

I've owned 5-6 1970's era Mark I's and none of those amps would be considered bright. On the contrary, they were some of the fastest sounding amps that I've ever heard, clean or overdriven. One of them even had a JBL K-120. I think that I read somewhere that the Mark I R.I. was based off of Robben F...

Re: WANTED; Blonde / Brown Mark I, II Combo Cabinet

I'm still looking. I'd consider buying the whole amp for the right price.

Mark IIA In For Service, Any Mods?

Well, my Mark IIA has been sent off to Mesa for maintenance and a tune up and the waiting game begins. I'm not sure how long it'll be there with the current climate and the state of CA practically being shut down. Any way, I've had plenty of time to think about the amp. Does anybody know of any mods...

WANTED; Blonde / Brown Mark I, II Combo Cabinet

I'm looking for a used 1970's to very early 80's (1980-1981) Mesa Boogie combo cabinet in blonde / brown. It has to be the earlier version with chassis screws as opposed to the later suspension mounts. Mine has the earlier bolt pattern. Must be clean. Thanks!

Yes, I read the ad. I already own a Mark IIB. I thought it was a little interesting. Thanks.

Disconnect it (sorry I hate reverb)
Quite fortunate then that it's not your amp he's asking about, right?

Re: Mark III reverb, can it be improved?

I'm pretty sure that Mesa Boogie has a reverb boost mod that they can perform for the Mark III. I'm not 100% certain on all that the mod entails but, I think it involves swapping out a couple of resistors (?). Maybe someone here has more info on the mod and you can perform it yourself if you're hand...

Modified Boogie Mark I

I'm sure some of you guys have seen this, but I was wondering what the general forum opinion is on this one; https://reverb.com/item/26260964-mesa-boogie-mark-white-tolex-late-1970s I know it's collector value is pretty much shot but, it seems like fairly useable mods to help make it a more versatil...

Re: Opinions on the Mark IIB+ vs. Mack IIC+

Oh man, thanks GJgo. I guess that means that my hunt for a IIC+ continues...I will say that my B+ is the best sounding amp I've ever owned. Amazing. It kind of blows my mind to think a IIC+ may be even better.

Opinions on the Mark IIB+ vs. Mack IIC+

I own a 1980 Mark IIB which has had the post effects master volume mod performed on it. I've heard folks refer to these amps, likely in jest, as a Mark IIB+. Apparently, one of the added benefits of this mod is smoother gain and getting the amp tonally "closer" to a Mark IIC+. Have any of the experi...
