Stiletto Ace and Deuce , how useable is the volume for smaller gigs??

I'm downsizing from JCM800's as although i love that sound, they're just too powerful. I briefly owned a deuce a while ago, but not long enough to really test it out. I've got the option to buy back my old deuce stage 1 rig, and I've also got a lead on a ace stage 2 head. My question is, how usable ...

Re: mini recto users , loud enough for gigs / band practice?

I've settled in with my stiletto deuce and recto 2x12 now , and I'm a total Mesa convert . It does everything my other amps couldn't ! I still need a small amp for home . I'm still really tempted by the mini recto . Is it small enough to get good sounds at home while being loud enough to do gigs ? I...

This is my first Mesa , and what a beauty it is !

I'm interested to know how people are setting theirs up , and particularly how to best use the solo function

Which single foot switch for a stiletto ?

I have a stiletto deuce , and I find the stock foot switch bulky , and I only need to switch channel , so I got hold of a Mesa boogie single foot switch . It works , but kind of the opposite to what I expect . The led on thecfootswitch comes on when switching to the rythmn (blue) channel and off whe...

Re: Anyone gigging a mini recto???

I didn't gig regularly with one, but I did buy a Mini Recto and vertical 2X12 before in hopes I could downsize my rig and make my back happy. Volume certainly isn't an issue, as it's more power than you'd ever need. It sounds louder than it is. That being said, it's not as "big" sounding (obviously...

Re: Hello!!mesa newb after advice on mini rec, rect, & stil

+1000 on Blak's response. I will add that in general terms, Mesa tends to have more girth or grunt (bigger lows) and a low-mid emphasis. Rectos are famous for this. Marshall is more about high mid emphasis. The rectos are best paired with a recto cab, which will give VERY tight lows and really tune...

mini recto users , loud enough for gigs / band practice??

I'm super tempted by the mini rectifier, and I was wondering if it might possibly be an amp I can use all the time, rather than at home. Is it loud enough to gig with?? I play in a crossover punk/metal band, I'm a lead guitarist and the other guitarist plays a 5150. Is anyone gigging with their mesa...

Hello!!mesa newb after advice on mini rec, rect, & stiletto

Hello everyone!! I'm a 42 year old guitarist playing mostly rock/metal/punky/garage/crossover type stuff. Here's the band I play lead guitar in. http://dogsflesh.co.uk/ https://soundcloud.com/dogsflesh For years and years I've been plugging my les paul custom into the front of a marshall jcm800 with...
