Mesa 5 band graphic eq pedal and the lonestar

Has anybody used this combination? I experienced the builtin eq with the JP2C and it is dramatic. How would that pedal work on the Lonestar?

Boogie 5 Band EQ in the Lonestar

Has anybody tried this? Would it work to lower the bass frequencies and boost the mids? The EQ built in the JP2C makes the amp sound huge. Would this pedal do the same to my amp?

Re: LoneStar Classic Settings

I have a 2016 LSC 1x12 combo, stock MC90 Speaker. Drive settings: Drive 1 O'Clock Gain 1-2 O'Clock Treble 1 O'Clock Mids 9 O'Clock Bass 9 O'Clock Presence Noon Channel volumes never above noon, set to balance clean and OD volume. Output is my overall volume, solo for solos, slightly louder so that c...

Also, as an experiment, who could I send my amp to so I can try this out?

Re: Lonestar Classic - too much bass on drive channel - SOLU

Here it is. The track is recorded in the following way: PRS Custom24 HFS treble and Vintage bass - Lonestar - Suhr Reactive Load - Apogee Duet - Logic Pro with Torpedo Wall of Sound plugin. The plugin is an impulse loader. I loaded a Mesa 4x12 from Ownhammer. https://soundcloud.com/adrianni/mesa-dr...

Re: Lonestar Classic - too much bass on drive channel - SOLU

Its funny. I never had any problems with tone once I saw a video with Andy Timmons explaining how he eq's the amp. The Mesa Eq is different than that of say a Marshall or Fender. Each tone knob effects the way the others sound. So in short, I have the Treble at 1-2 O'clock,Mids and Bass at 9O'Clock....

Re: Love for Ch2 LSC?

If eq'd properly ch2 is perfect. Ive had Soldano, Bogner, Egnater, Mender, Hiwatt, Marshall, and other Mesas and the LSC OD channel is as good as any of them. Just different. The amp has strong bass and lower mid frequencies, so I dial some of that out. Drive the amp hard and use a G&L Legacy HB or ...

Re: Ch2 50W vs 100W LSC tightness - a difference, or just me

Hi, That makes sense. I don't ever push the power tubes that hard in 100w mode, but do in 50w mode. i wonder if that introduces more compression and might make things feel tighter? D That's exactly right. The harder you drive the power tubes, the more the compression. I like mine at 100 watts all t...

Re: LSC speaker question

Talked to Mesa about this today. Their response was that everything was overbuilt in these amps and should be able to take the additional load as the amps work harder driving 8ohms. There is a noticable difference in feel and sound with 8ohms vs. 4 ohms at 50ish watts (I run it in tweed mode most o...

Re: LSS popping

I have the same issue, checked with tech support at Mesa. They said it is normal. I turn down the guitar volume and switch to clean channel before I put on standby or change wattage. Seems to help. The tech guy said it is not a problem and wont hurt the speaker.

Re: lonestar special 1x 12 live (does it cut it?)

I've had both and for an all around amp I like my classic because of the power and headroom. The 1x12 is good without a mic at small gigs but it is always better to mic your cab. I'm getting an extension cab, either a 1x12 or a 2x12 for larger venues. I never worry about cutting through the mix. The...

Re: Lonestar 2.0, will it ever happen?

Its been around for over 10 years, i think.Would a revision with maybe 3 channels or an improved channel 2 ever be a possibility?Ive had both the classic and the special and moved them on eventually (currently have a mark V) but Im missing them lately.Something really magical about channel 1 and ch...

Drive and gain at 1 oclock, treble 1 oclock. Mids and bass at 9 oclock. Presence at 11 oclock. volume to taste and solo boost to taste.

Extension cab for LSC 1x12

Im on the fence, and nobody in town has both extension cabinets. I have a 1x12 Lonestar Classic that sounds perfect. For larger venues, I would like an extension cabinet. Cant decide if I should just get another Lonestar 1x12 or if I should get a 2x12 and have 2 speakers. Anybody try them both. I li...
