Blue Angel is sold. I can't believe I still have this Imbuia Thiele available... I guess the market really is softening this year! Not a bad one to keep I guess.

Re: Fake???

No, this is NOT an Aidean Zoom copy! This is a really old amp that actually predates what became the Mark I. The give away is the Level control, basically a second Master at the end of the preamp and coming AFTER the added booster stage. This is the configuration Randy came up with for Lee Michaels...

Re: Fake???

This looks really similar to one of the Neil Young Boogies which were suppose to be some of the earliest ones sold. You might see if you can find a date codes anywhere (either the chassis itself or on some of the electrical components. My guess is it is real based on the photos but who knows. I don'...

Re: mark 3 serial numbers

Blue stripe, and your power tubes are most likely installed wrong. There should be an outer pair, and an inner pair. Technically they were probably right at some point, but then someone replaced the right two incorrectly. Not sure how well it is going to function as it sits, you have three 6L6s and...

Imbuia Hardwood & Wicker Thiele, Padauk 12" Simul-class Mark I, Padauk 15" Mark IIB Coliseum

Hey All, I'm getting my guitar building business going again which means liquidating a good portion of my Mesa Hardwood collection to fund tool and material purchases. I'm not at the stage where I am letting anything go cheap yet, but if you are looking for rare stuff send me a message at mail@scott...

Re: Mark III NOS Tube Suggestions

In the past Mike B has suggested 5881s, Sylvanias or the TAD 6L6s for my 105PT Mark III. For EL34s he mentioned the JJ E34Ls should be able to handle the extra power.

Re: Mk IIB

For the amp and case I would say $1,500 is probably the top of the market if you luck into someone ready to spend all their money without any research. Most sit a long time at that price or above, even nice hardwoods with extras in good shape. I've got some great deals on hardwood IIBs over the year...

Re: Help: Removing Mark IV Chassis from Combo

Sometimes the bottom of the faceplate gets stuck on the grill or foam. Sometimes they can get bound up on the shielding foil on the top of the cabinet at bit as well. I had another Mesa recently with wooden blocks glued onto the chassis on either side behind the faceplate and those had bonded to the...
