Re: MKIIC+ ++ mod

Nice to hear from you. I hope all is well. No, I used a standard mono speaker jack to make it foot switchable. Thanx for the info. I wouldn't know how to install the LDR. I replaced them in my 2:90 but that was for the half drive mode. Which didnt help with the pops. Anyway, i'm not sure what to do ...

Re: Solo Head 50 low output

Disclaimer: Please, going inside an amp can have bad consequences. I've learned the hard way. If uncertain, refer to a qualified tech. Have / can you check all resistors and caps , mainly the Orange drops and see if they measure correctly. When was it last recapped? Take your time and gently wiggle ...

Re: 2:ninety humming

I doubt that the 10,000uf caps in the matrix are doing that . Are they leaking on the pcb? How are the presence controls acting? If there are no red plating tubes, I might suspect caps. The .1 coupling caps or the .047 cap at the input stage. And of course, visually check for bad connections, solder...

MKIIC+ ++ mod

Howdy, Anyone know what one can do to eliminate the pops that come along w/ these great mods (The ole "Fire Breathing Dragon". All credit goes to Boogiebabies , as I was told and to JB32 for a great schematic of the C+.) using a poor man's switch? Thanx!

Re: White noise.

No. No cracking or pops. When I recapped, I recall measuring them . They read fine . I would have to lift board and remove them from circuit to re check. There's much more to the story. I accidentally sprayed canned air on preamp board when amp was live and had a mini explosion. Could be a gazillion...

Re: White noise.

Thanks for the replies. Don, yes. I try to keep all leads neat and as close as possible to original place. I put in new other parts as well. I put a new 1000pf ceramic disc cap (C27) in lead circuit. The original had a pin hole in it. I read that , at times, the quality,manufacturer.... etc of new p...

Re: Redplating problem

Greetings. I know this is an old thread and was interesting. So which ones were open? The bias in (E) 220k's , or the 220k's , or I think you said they were 150k's going to pin 5 of outer sockets? Thanks, Jim

Re: This is why replacing capacitors is NOT optional!

Thanx for the info. Gotta question for you. After i did a complete recap on my DRG C+, among other things, would it make my reverb more responsive? I have never recapped it since it was new 35yrs. ago so i really don't know what to expect. It now has miles of sustain w/ lots of head room too. so I d...

Re: 2:90 led problem

Im fine. thanx. can you pull her out and pop the lid and take a look around? Last July I did a complete recapp. Every electrolytic cap was replaced. Reason being is that I had other issues goin on and sent it out for a quote. Almost cost as much as the amp new. Anyway, I did all the work myself. The...
