Re: mark 3 serial numbers

Blue stripe, and your power tubes are most likely installed wrong. There should be an outer pair, and an inner pair.

Re: New MK IIC++ owner, need advice!

Check out this 6L6 comparo I did in my IIC++. https://youtu.be/j6JtsvSnRgI Nice thing about the Mark IIs, there's really no bad settings. Dial up what sounds good to you- that day- and it will change. Hell, last week I was playing with the treble & bass at 0 and the mids at 6 & it was crushing. On m...

Re: Rarest of rare IIC+ any Coliseum Simul Class exports mad

Normally I prefer Simul, but this IIB Coli I got is so damn good after Mike worked on it I'm done. I had an experience once where I liked an amp better before the mod...

Re: Mark I, II, III 15" Combos?

I'm very very very happy with my new-to-me IIB "+" Coli. Note that my last IIC+ is currently for sale..

It wouldn't hurt my feelings to turn it into a head if someone has a clean head shell & wants to trade.

Re: Pre-Amp / Power amp Tube Set for Dual Rectifier

I like Chinese or JJs pres in my Rectos.

Here's a 6L6 comparo I did that included 420s & 440s. I preferred the 420s in my Recto, but when they run out the 440 will be just fine.

Multi-Watt speaker / ohms setup in 50w mode

Hey guys, I couldn't find an answer to this question in the literature so I asked Mesa, figured I would share. In my old Mark hundred watters, its known that if I flip the switch to 60w mode to maintain a proper load match I would want to move the 8 ohm speaker load to the 4 ohm jack. I could not fi...

Re: NAD: IIB "300 Series" Coliseum... As a bass amp?

I just picked up a minty IIB Coliseum combo with the 15" EV. As a sealed cab guy I have to say it's the first combo that I've actually liked the tone in, mostly because this speaker can really pull the bottom end. It sounds HUGE on cleans. I did have the idea of picking up a TL606 cab to put it in t...

Re: Listen , How close is my Mark III to the IIc++?

Well, I sold the JP if that tells you anything. That said for live work I’d take the JP all day long. You can make the tone very similar and the JP has awesome features. For anything else however the feel of the C+ is far superior.

Re: Wrapping my head around the infamous 105-PT

I have a couple 105s & a X101 IIC+ / ++. I've had a few Mark IIIs. The 105 has an amazing feel. The IIC+ has an amazing tone. Combined they're incredible. Synergy is a thing. IIIs are more harsh, a III with the 105 is nice but it's not the same. My red stripe was still the best III I've played. Here...

Here you go, I just posted this comparo last weekend. Is it different? Yes. Is the difference worth big bucks? You decide.

Re: Sloppy MK2C++ Jamming

I'm still surprising myself with the tones I find in them. Putting knobs in places that are not the norm. There are no bad tones with these. I have a good one for you if you're brave enough to try it. - Push all knobs so you're on the "clean" channel. - Dime V1, treble, bass, middle & presence. - EQ...

Re: Mark IIC++ HRG head for sale

For a 35 year old amp there is pragmatically no rust on it. Not that it would matter if there was some surface rust...

I've played this amp insanely loud through a full stack and I definitely maxed out before the amp did.
