Re: Mark V: No Front Lights, No Fan, Just a Hum from the Speaker

I'm no electrical expert but I would say it's the nature of the beast unfortunately. It's a very complicated price of equipment with hundreds of parts in a very harsh environment. Components can and do fail, in all amps. What country are you in? I would recommend using an official service centre, bu...

Re: Mark V with Revv g3/4 pedal

Never really liked flavoured OD's into my V. Clean boosts do it for me on ch1 and 2. Nothing on 3. I use "Amp driver" on the GSP, no idea what it's modelled after, possibly the MXR microamp of the 80's. Pushing crunch ch 2 with that definitely gets that screaming Marshall vibe. Sorry to not really ...

Re: Finally happy with my V

Great to hear. It is a great amp, not for everyone, but a great amp still. AT7 and direct to the floor are the two key factors with this amp. Enjoy it mate. The wildhearts are an awesome band!

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Great to see this thread still catching people's eye. Just saw it referenced over on a different forum too. Helps to prove the AT7 works as described for sure!

Re: Changing V1 preamp tube is risky

Very tricky job to change v1 without removing chassis. Even in the combo it's difficult.

Re: Sound loss across all three channels

Hi, I would check your tubes first. Namely power tubes, but also check on the different wattage settings too. Also preamp tubes, mainly v1. If none of those works to narrow it down it could be a Jfet issue similar to what I had and that's definitely a tech job to fix unless your a brain surgeon with...

Re: external switching cables

Hi, I use the voodoo lab and it works a charm. Standard 1/4" patch cables or guitar cables work fine. Do you need anything else to get this to work? I'd assumed Helix into the voodoo via midi and then just the 1/4 jacks to the channels on the Mark V but reading eslewhere it seems to imply you need ...

Re: Thoughts on Modern Pedal Boards

Yeah the GSP1101 really does sound good with the MARK 5. Granted, it's no AXEFX but what it does do it does very well. It can also be tweaked to run a modeled amp sim in parallel with the MARK 5 preamp so i get some really thick crunch tones! Happy days!!!

Re: Thoughts on Modern Pedal Boards

Hi,

I run a gsp1101 with my 90w and she sings. Not the most feature packed unit but 1u rack space and very transparent. Used to run a gt8 and it sucked the life out of the amp. The gsp1101 does the few things I need it to very well.
