Re: I don't love my Mark V

Which channel are you mainly focusing on? If it's ch3 then 12 O'clock settings will sound naff. Bass very low, mids low and then work from there. Balance the presence and high EQ slider to work on the ice pick. I'd start with this on ch3. Ch1 and 2 are a bit more forgiving.

Re: -

Hard to say if the ferrite bead thing is a placebo or not. I see Authorised Boogies response on his thread stating it was miss-information and only suppresses very high and ultra high frequencies well beyond human hearing, but, it could also have an effect on the lower audible frequencies as a conse...

Re: Good scare and need advise - Mark V:35

Other than opening her up and seeing if anything looks or smells burnt unless your up to speed with the technical side of valve amps I'd say get a tech to check over it. Better to find a component that's about to fail and replace it before it does fail and cause more damage. Chances are that everyth...

Re: Mark V intermittent power and lights loss

Maybe a bit late to help but just to chime in, I would agree diodes in power supply. Try Essex Amp Repairs in Witham, great service and great guys rescued my Mayk V from the brink after I had a woopsie with it! Any news on how it is Markyman?

That is a shame, lots of great information for everyone lost there. I did see a post on one of apemans threads from boogie saying that it was misinformation being spread about the ferrite bead. I dunno, thin skin maybe? Shame if bandits gone too. Lots of great info there as well.

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Pretty sure mine is a 2009 model, and I'm sure Mesa did some revision at some point to the Mk V. Also, there's many factors at work here, such as no 2 tubes are ever equal, no components are ever 100% equal, no cabs and speakers regardless of brand are ever equal, let alone different brand cabs and ...

Re: Just bought a Mark V 90 watt combo. Have some questions not answered in the manual.

Just one thing to add to the above, pretty sure i remember that the pop caused from switching between 10w to 45 or 90w is normal due to the architecture of the amp and is harmless. However, rather than suppressing this mesa decided to not add even more components to the signal chain (adding noise) b...
