The single seems brighter and has more clarity but with 50 watts of headroom the cleans aren't as great as the other two recs now how do you figure the cleans arent as good? All the greatest sounding clean tube amps have all been under 100w! Hell, most fenders were even under 50. dynamics themselve...

best way I know off to discharge caps is this: disconect the amp from its electrical outlet and and then flick both power and standby switches on. Let it sit like this for a few minutes. I never do this after playing though, because my gets played constantly so my caps arent at high risk to swelling...

even the cheaper MG 4x12 marshall cabs have celestion in em. Id say if you have at least a 1960a (or better) then you'll probably be happy. If its a MG or AVT cab (which have celestion rockets) then you will probably be looking for a new cab soon too and there is no tangible difference in distortion...

Im guilty of using Monster  Ive got good reasons though. I never paid for a single one. They were all given to me on different occasions by monster reps. And if any of em break for WHATEVER reasons (my dog chewed right through a speaker cable last week) I just take it to any guitarcenter and g...

I'm bad about that  I have good intentions, but I get in too big of a hurry sometimes and don't want to wait so I do the flip of both switches and hit a chord and listen to my sound "fade in". The cool down thing I'm always pretty good about and I usually wait 30-60 seconds. I should probably...

it can definitely get as heavy and agressive, and IMO much better sounding than that clip.

Ive played both extensively. Save for the roadking and tremoverb, Ive had every type of Recto in my studio at one time or another. there is a BIG difference, and I assure it IS NOT in the tubes. There is a level of clarity that just does NOT exist in the 3ch models. The 3ch models are not bad by any...

I find the newer rectos to be darker and a bit smoother, but the older ones have somethich which is much more important to me, CLARITY!

None of the 3ch models Ive ever played seem to match the 2ch models for clarity.

Re: Mesa Custom Options

I have major GAS for a new Roadster, but I was wondering about custom options and had a couple of questions. 1. When you order customer options, do you place the order through Mesa to have them send it to you directly, or do you have to go through an authorized dealer? 2. Who do you call at Mesa to...

Im taking a guess here, but I dont think your problem is going to be solved w/ a power conditioner.

Might be time to get her looked out (caps and transformers)

VERY VERY good move. Ractifiers, like all of their 2ch brothers sound awsome. Much better than the current offering. I know thats not a popular sentiment here, but I think its just because the vast majority of Recto owners here are new and have 3ch models, and who wants to be told they own the infer...

I play a very wide variety of music. I started out for years only playing metallica, but I have now moved on. I still play and listen to bands like van halen and randy rhoads era ozzy but I am starting to play newer music. I have been playing lots of metal/ hardcore stuff trivium, lamb of god, aven...
