Re: Fillmore 50 and the Effect loop

If you get any suggestions I'd be surprised. You might try reversing phase on one of the amps (speakers) while on clean to rule out that that is or isn't the problem.

Re: Mesa Fillmore - Claims it lacks volume/headroom

My 25 really struggles in the band to stay clean, but it's dirty clean is sweet. 8) I've gotten used to it so when I play my Lone star, I can't get the clean as dirty and I miss it.

Re: Fillmore 50 combo

My 25 is definitely underpowered. That 50 should be fine. Is your band loud? I overcome this issue with an extension cab and a boost in the loop. I also dial in my clean a bit dirty, getting more volume out of the gain, say 1-2 o'clock, master the same.

Fillmore 25 head

My 25 head is Fricken awesome! It covers all the turf I need. So much so that I have considered selling my Lone Star classic but it's nice to have the power for some gigs. The LSC is a back breaker though. The Fillmore sounds so good in all the modes. It sounds so warm in the 3 basic modes. Clean, D...

Sorry to hear your problems. And your mods backfired. If it aint broke, don't fix it. Your power tubes may be suspect. Your tech should of tested and verified. To many issues to address. Best of luck.

Re: Rectoverb 25 vs its big brother

Modern mode is in my top 5. Has girth and plenty of gain. Don't know how it compares to the 50/100 w model. My buddy has one, I'll ask for a demo. I don't think it has the same thump as a 6l6 does. A fair approximation but different in an inferior way. Fullness is lacking. So why own one? Portabilit...

Have you tried it at a different location. Maybe faulty grounding in current home.

Re: New LSC owner needs some info

Hmmm, I keep mine both at 50w. I'll try different wattage settings and see if it "pops". Mine is a V1 with no 10w setting. The original "Blue Pig" 2x12.

Re: New LSC owner needs some info

They are great amps. I believe the outer tubes are the 50's. As for the Footswitch pop, all I can say is mine doesn't do that.

The Blue Dog is ok. I mix the dog with the C-90 for a great blend.

Re: Hello?

14 years and still going. Actually I've blown a grid resistor or 2. Not changing tubes before they fry will do that. Simple fix, once I really messed it up by plugging the ribbon cable wrong. Had a tech or 2 look at it to no avail, sent the chassis to Boogie and they fixed it no problem and for a re...
