Re: Fillmore Overdrive Pedal Suggestions

Totally agree! Should of been a 3 ch amp. The Clean, Drive & Hi voicing are better than say a Timmy, SD-1,& Suhr Riot. In my cover band I have chosen to go with clean and Drive to get my first 2 ch's. I then use a Flux five to get a couple more ch's. The 5 band EQ helps with putting some thunder in ...

Re: Lonestar 2x12 tone in a lighter format?

I would definitely consider the Fillmore. I have the LSC 2x12 and the Fillmore 25 head. I use the F25 for practice and small gigs while I save the LSC for the big venues. The clean on the Fillmore is full and warm similar to the LSC. The drive is better IMO on the F25. The head room on the F25 is no...

If your looking for a light el84....
consider Transatlantic 15,
Or, I would just put the LSC upstairs. You could switch to a head LSS. Sell the LSC and get something more portable.

Re: Toning down reverb in Fillmore 50

I'm not a fan of my Fillmore's reverb either. But my LSC is the best spring verb I've ever heard in the warm setting.

Re: Flashback 2 in Loop

I was reading through my Boss DD-20 manual and I discovered that it has a -4db and -20db settings. If your Flashback has the same, that could be the problem. Read the manual.

Re: Flux five for good Mark IV tones?

Here's how I use it. I use the "Lo" side to push my dirt channel for a solid hard rock rhythm. Then the "Hi" side with 5 band EQ engaged for a thick commanding lead tone.

Got another pedal (delay/chorus/reverb/etc.) to test it?

Re: Fillmore 50 and the Effect loop

If you get any suggestions I'd be surprised. You might try reversing phase on one of the amps (speakers) while on clean to rule out that that is or isn't the problem.

Re: Mesa Fillmore - Claims it lacks volume/headroom

My 25 really struggles in the band to stay clean, but it's dirty clean is sweet. 8) I've gotten used to it so when I play my Lone star, I can't get the clean as dirty and I miss it.

Re: Fillmore 50 combo

My 25 is definitely underpowered. That 50 should be fine. Is your band loud? I overcome this issue with an extension cab and a boost in the loop. I also dial in my clean a bit dirty, getting more volume out of the gain, say 1-2 o'clock, master the same.
