Re: Rectoverb 25 vs its big brother

Modern mode is in my top 5. Has girth and plenty of gain. Don't know how it compares to the 50/100 w model. My buddy has one, I'll ask for a demo. I don't think it has the same thump as a 6l6 does. A fair approximation but different in an inferior way. Fullness is lacking. So why own one? Portabilit...

Have you tried it at a different location. Maybe faulty grounding in current home.

Re: New LSC owner needs some info

Hmmm, I keep mine both at 50w. I'll try different wattage settings and see if it "pops". Mine is a V1 with no 10w setting. The original "Blue Pig" 2x12.

Re: New LSC owner needs some info

They are great amps. I believe the outer tubes are the 50's. As for the Footswitch pop, all I can say is mine doesn't do that.

The Blue Dog is ok. I mix the dog with the C-90 for a great blend.

Re: Hello?

14 years and still going. Actually I've blown a grid resistor or 2. Not changing tubes before they fry will do that. Simple fix, once I really messed it up by plugging the ribbon cable wrong. Had a tech or 2 look at it to no avail, sent the chassis to Boogie and they fixed it no problem and for a re...

Re: Lonestar Classic Head Total Loss of Sound

If you're sure you got good preamp tubes in at replacement...then move on to the power tubes. Probably should get it to an amp tech.

You don't need matching rigs, any amp and speaker will do. Just balance it with the volume.

Possibly....clean the jacks/plugs to the FS with contact cleaner. Spray the plug and insert many times quickly, you know, like you're doing your gal. That has solved many weird intermittent issues with my pedals.

Re: LoneStar Classic Settings

Actually there is quite a bit of gain or saturation on Mayers' amp in that clip. You're gonna need to use ch 2 with the drive engaged. But...ch 2 is notoriously muddy. I have done the Reeder mod that clones the channels. It will help the strat tone to shine through with drive. Either way, bass and m...

Re: Mesa 2x12 Recto Compact Cab?

I'd expect it would sound more modern and less vintage. I haven't actually tried that cab but I really like using a closed back 2x12 ext. With my LSC 2x12. It sounds huge!
