Re: Mark IIc+ combo dimensions

Sorry for the late reply. I just measured a combo. It's 18 3/4" wide x 10 3/4" deep x 17 3/8" high not including the rubber feet.

Re: Neal Schon Mark IIc+ DRG

I'm not on Facebook. I just called Mesa customer service to see if the amp had been in for service. They said it was there in 2012 for new caps, power tube sockets and maintenance. It is really touch sensitive. It's just a fantastic amp. I haven't compared it side by side to my Coliseum yet but I'll...

Re: Neal Schon Mark IIc+ DRG

This c+ is sweet. It might be the best c+ I own. The cleans are rich and warm and the overdrive is super creamy but still has definition. I've been playing it with a HSS Strat at 115 volts on a variac thru a Mesa Halfback 4x12 with Celestion C90's on top and EV's in the bottom and there's no icepick...

Neal Schon Mark IIc+ DRG

I just bought another c+. I asked the shop I bought it from if they could send pics of the transformers before they packed it for shipping. They didn't know if it was a Simul or 100 watt. They pulled the chassis and found a sticker on the side of the chassis with Neal Schon written on it. I sent a p...

Re: Tube rolling with my Mark IIc+....Suggestions?

My favorite tube combination is probably NOS Chinese Military Beijing 12ax7's and Sovtek 5881's. The Chinese 12ax7's have a sweet, dynamic overdrive and the Sovtek 5881's sound thick. The 5881's are also very durable and can handle the voltage when used in a c+\III+ with the 105 transformer.

Re: Mark III NOS Tube Suggestions

What preamp tubes are you going to use? The Mark III's originally came with Tungsrams and then Chinese Military Beijing 12ax7's. I really like the Chinese tubes. They're brighter and have more gain than the Tungsrams.

Re: Love my red stripe Mesa Mark III...GAS'n for a Mark IIc+. Am I really missing a lot?

The c+ is the King of the Hill with the Coliseum at the very top. I was recently talking to Mike B. about my Coliseum and told him that it was the Head of Class. He said that's because everyone else had left the classroom.

Re: Love my red stripe Mesa Mark III...GAS'n for a Mark IIc+. Am I really missing a lot?

A Mark III+ with the 105 transformer will get you close to a c+. The III+ maybe sounds a little compressed compared to a c+ but then all c+'s don't sound the same. My Coliseum sounds huge. I actually spend most of my time with my III+'s because of R2. I got my III+ DRG Wide Chassis with the 105 back...

Re: Original Mark II C+ vs. Mark II C Conversions, Any Differences?

The difference is the power transformers and also if a Simul Class has the brightness reduced. A factory HR has punchier cleans and tighter overdrive. An early factory DR with the brightness reduced has sweeter cleans/leads and softer attack. My upgraded HR is somewhere in between and is one of my f...

Re: Mark III NOS Tube Suggestions

I’ve been trying various tube combinations in my III+ DRG with the 105. Last weekend I put in Mesa Russian 2 12ax7’s, 440’s and 447’s and I’m really happy with the way it sounds. I save the 415’s for my 100 watt c+’s. I highly recommend sending your amp to Mesa for the III+/R2 mod.

Re: Under chassis 1/4” inputs?

The jack near V2 is for the eq footswitch. The other jack is the pre amp out - power amp in jack. From the Mark llc manual: A Pre Amp Out-Pwr Amp In jack is located on the bottom of the chassis and provides access to the junction of the preamp and the output power amp. With it, another Boogie can be...
