Re: NAD - Lone Star Classic 410 Combo

I've never seen a 4x10 version. What speakers does it come with? Two Jensen P10R and two Vintage Black Shadows I would bet it had four Black Shadows originally and the previous owner replaced two with the Jensens. I wonder if the Black Shadows are the same as the 10" in my Subway Blues. It's an Emi...

Re: NAD - Lone Star Classic 410 Combo

Cool! Never seen a 4x10 Lonestar before. Does it come with its own sack-truck to move it around? It has tracks for wheels, but the previous owner did not have the wheels. That's one of the first things I'll snag. As far as weight, it's surprisingly light and a real joy to carry. I'm lying, of...

NAD - Lone Star Classic 410 Combo

Hey everyone - A couple weeks ago, I picked up a Lone Star Classic 410 Combo. This seemed unique and I missed my previous Lone Star (which I moved some time ago in a blunder.) As I understand it, this was only produced for a couple years. Does anyone have any resources on it - history and such? I ca...

Re: NAD - Lonestar Special "Short Head?"

I ended up pairing it with an Avatar Contemporary 2x12 cab with V30's.

Personally, I think it sounds phenomenal. I'm still hunting tones, though, and finding out what this thing can do.

I love bumping the treble a bit and adding just a touch of fuzz.

Re: NAD - Lonestar Special "Short Head?"

Thanks - yeah, I think they're all the same size (the Special heads) and it's just the shell that varies.

UPDATE - also, Andy Timmons says he's never owned a Special, only Classics, let alone traded one in to GC. So there's that.

NAD - Lonestar Special "Short Head?"

Greetings all, Well, I picked up my first LoneStar this Sunday. It's smaller than the standard Special head - after doing a little research, I discovered mentions of a "short head" in both the special and the classic. I drove to Dallas on Sunday to pick it up. When we were exchanging cash for amp, t...

Likely buying first Lone Star this weekend... need a cab

Hey folks, If all runs its course as planned, I'll be buying my first Lone Star head, a Special, this Sunday. Currently, I own a Rectoverb 50 combo. This means I'll have to grab a cabinet somewhere. I have a couple of options: It's been suggested by friends that I pick up a 1x12 with either a Creamb...

Re: Reverb.com IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY!

I use Reverb more often than I thought I would. In the last couple of years, I've sold four guitars, a couple pedals, and purchased odds and ends items from people all over the country. I've had only one issue and Reverb sorted it out rather quickly. I purchased a Randall Diavlo 20 head from some ya...

Thank you!

As it turns out, a damp towel removed whatever sticky stuff was on the grill cloth.

Also, I was able to quickly mod the effects loop for series and not burn the house down, so this baby is rockin'.

Re: NAD - actually a day or two ago - Mesa Boogie Rect-O-Ver

If it is paint on the grill and it won't come off or is discolored from trying, take it off and lightly spray paint it, your only hope. I'd go with a "stain" finish. Krylon seems dry the fastest. Keep the spray can back about 18 inches and put on at least 2 coats in different directions as lightly ...

Thanks, Elvis.

I'll try that and the brush before doing much else.

NAD - actually a day or two ago - Mesa Boogie Rect-O-Verb 50

So, this is my second Mesa Boogie combo - the first was a Rocket 44. I'm really pleased with this so far. It's a Series 1 Mesa Boogie Rectoverb 50 and it's in great condition. For those who notice, no - that's not the original handle. It had no handle when I picked it up and no foot controller, eith...

Re: Mesa Boogie Rocket 44

Thanks very much for the answers. I appreciate it.

I don't see an EQ anywhere on the amp. I saw that the 22 had an EQ of some sort, I think.

Anyway, thanks again.

Mesa Boogie Rocket 44

Hi folks - First post. I just purchased my first Mesa Boogie - a Rocket 44. It seems solid and sounds like a pretty decent combo amp. It has the original Black Shadow MC90 speaker and the three-button foot pedal and is in excellent shape. I can't seem to find out much about it, though. Search engine...
