Re: Mark V - Dream Theater cover - Channel 2 goodness (Crunc

The guitar can NEVER be too loud in the mix  Nice playing! Loud for whom? loud its always subjective. Guitar volume on a mix its always dependent on taste and to what you want to project on the song, same rule applies for all instrument on the song, and of course as long you don't kill voc...

Re: MARK FIVE 25 TONE SETTINGS THREAD

Check out this video for a kick ass setting on the channel 1 crunch mode. https://youtu.be/WMXPNSvR_EE I tried it out the other night and it blew me away. It sounds even better live than in this video. I’ve been playing on the extreme mode up till now, but this made me question that. Give it a shot...

Re: MARK FIVE 25 TONE SETTINGS THREAD

As you all may already know; Mark V 25 it’s NOT a plug and play amp !! After 2 years using this little amp, I am just starting to get nice tones (specifically talking about dirty channel options). If you want to get good tones out of it, you will have to invest lots of time tweaking this little boy ...

I don't need to Bias the replacement tubes do I?
For the power section you will have to get Mesa tubes, as for the pre-amp section they can be of any brand

Re: Mini Rectifier tube suggestions

Ive moved to Ruby 12AX7 HG+ in V1 and V2. V3-V5 is stock. I find them good. Supposed to be tested for low noise and microphonics. Supposedly these are what Deizel use in the V1 and V2 of their amps. Personally, I never hear a difference between a tungsol, JJ, sovtek, or shungang. They all sound the...

This is correct, new versions do not have the switch and the FX loop is automatically off if there is nothing inserted into their 1/4 loop sockets.

Will try to play with the presence knob, thanks

Mark V VS JP2C

It may be already a topic describing details about the JP2C amp but still I would think it will be a good idea to hear comments from real and current users of both amps.

Can the owners share their experiences, one vs the other?

Re: Are good cables REALLY worth the extra dosh?

They are definitely not necessary but YES, they do make a difference, even though it may be classified as a subtle difference, and many times hardy noticeable for most players. This type of difference can be more noticed with experienced ears, and definitely easier to catch for those classified as t...
