I have been burned by reverb twice. The first time, the seller of a Fender guitar gutted the pickups and electronics and replaced them with the cheapest tiny pots and crappy pickups. Because I didn't take it all apart and ask for a refund in the first 7 days they did nothing. So you can sell guitars...

Change preamp tubes and you can get a lot of difference if the tubes are right. I don't change them all mostly just V1 and V2. I am using Bugle Boys Amperex ECC83 in V1 and V2 right now. Really nice cleans and warm tones. I also change to RCA 7025 and Mullard and GE for the 12AX7 preamp tubes. I hav...

I have had all three of Mesa's mods 'reduction mod' on my LSS. Done by Mesa authorized repair Mad Science Works in Raleigh. They are excellent at Mesa service. Over the first 6 years of its life, this amp has burned out over 8 rectifier tubes, all mesa branded. Just burned out another Mesa rectifier...

Leave the fan on. Your old amps probably didn't run that hot. The Lone Star runs hotter than a three dollar pistol. Some Mesa amps run cool, some run hot. LSS runs hot as hell.
