Re: Mark V Stressing Me Out

Replace the powertubes and you should be fine. Mesa supplies matching power tubes. If you can replace both pairs, even better.

Re: Mark V & Pedals.

Has anyone tried the Friedman BE OD or Suhr Riot with the Mark V ? Been a bit intrigued by these two pedals lately..

Re: Best Delay for Mv in Fx Loop?

For those who own a DD3, does anyone notice a slight muddiness of the output when the DD3 is used in the fx loop ?

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Its really aggressive, big and smooth. And yes raw in the 'How in your face is it?' department. It reminds me of Post-Mod V25 on crunch maybe with a bit of midboost and a TS9 in the front end.. Its the 60w only version. Fully loaded other than that though. Very IIc+ Especially with the Pull Deep/Br...

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

I got a Red Stripe Mark III yesterday. Forearmed with a bit of research knowledge from along this and other trails, I took the AT7 out of the Mark V:25 and lobbed it in the PI slot for the III. Same effect. Smooth creamy vintage liquidy heaven. Massively increased playability. Heavenly. So down to ...

Re: Mark V (AT7) vs JP2C video

Thanks for the video. For some reason I prefer the Mark V here.

So the JP2C had no EQ at all ?

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Thought I'd do a video with the 12AT7 in V6. Don't have a recording set-up at home so its recorded using my Note 5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDLozNfO13U&feature=youtu.be I haven't played for a couple of weeks so ignore the clams. It sounds much better in person but hopefully this vdo gives an...

Re: A Lemon?

Apeman is using a Mahogany body guitar, so that might make a difference even if you are using the same settings. Like Apeman, I have the 12AT7 at V6 and settings are quite similar, except presence is at 1 0' Clock. Regardless, it does sound like your Mark V might have something lacking with all the ...

No need for apologies.. just saying it as I see it.. I might have come across a bit harsh, so my apologies for that too..

It would be fun to be in your position though.. ha..

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Bandit, it might be just better to sell off your Mark V. Between the JP2C and the Tc-50, you probably have all your bases covered. Have a nice drink and Think about it; weigh your options and make the best choice..

You could always spring for a Mark V later , if you end up missing it..

Cheers!!

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Has anyone opened up their amp and run voltages on V4? While the max current on a 12at7 is greater than a 12ax7 the plate voltage max is about 10% less if I recall. The reason I ask is that on my amp after running the at7 in v4 for several hours channel 3 develops a faint noise similar to an ac cur...

Re: Is The Mark V 90w Right For Me?

Who could have guessed you were a JP fan with that Username..lol.. Jk.. Stock Mark V in Ch 3 , Mark IV mode will get you that fluid creamy tone JP is known for. However, your preference of guitar will make a major difference. Any decent basswood body guitar with humbuckers pairing up with any of the...

Re: Mesa Mark V problem (popping/scratching sound)

Nice Try on Mirroring the static noises.. LOL.. Nice playing too..

If the noise/pops are on all channels, change V1 preamp tube first. Many people prefer the Mesa SPAX7 in the V1 position on the Mark V. I use the plain old Mesa 12AX7 tube.

And welcome to the forums !!

Re: Mesa MarkV / Saturation 'mod'

Bummer, Hope you were not waiting for any response to my last post as I did not get around to pulling the chassis out yet. Hey Bandit, no worries. I have been a been occupied over the weekend due to family and stuff, so no update on the hum thing yet... It would be nice to know if your observations...
