I've never played a Mark I personally. But, the Mark 1 MODE on the V has a pretty dark sounding tone, quite dark and rounded off. I do use that MODE once in a while for a nice thick crunch. How "true" is the Mark 1 MODE compared to an actual Mark I amp? Are their personalities in the ball-park to ea...
Dangz. I didn't see those TC-50 videos before (probably because they're in French!). But, I watched all 3, all the way through...I could understand about every third word. :) Thanks much and I really liked your songwriting and playing. The TC series is really special. I hope they come out with a toa...

Two cabs, each 8 ohms, and each plugged into the back of the amp requires that you set the switch to 4 ohms. That is correct. In fact, if you do not run with the switch at 4 ohms with two 8 ohm cabs hooked directly into the amp you could damage the amp. Not sure why you have a volume drop with that?...

I think I can hear that buzz the OP is talking about. But, it seems more pronounced with the mills V30 setup. If it can't be dialed out with presence or treble then I dunno. It doesn't sound normal per se, but not sure what settings the OP had for sure. I would agree if "trusting your ears" is the m...

Hi, Last gig was at a club and a strange thing happened for a second time. I was using the cab clone on the Mark V for the drummer's monitor only (small place). On about the 2nd or 3rd song there was this feedback sound coming out of the PA. It seemed to be happening when I played (mics were muted) ...
There was a previous thread about a similar topic here, where folks were commenting on the difference between reverb on and off. I think in that case they preferred the sound with reverb off. I will have to play around with mine, I generally have reverb on clean, a hint of reverb on Ch2 and no rever...
I actually have replaced the V1 tube a few times over the years. I only remove the rightmost power tubes and put all channels in 10W mode and then all AX7s are accessible. Being in 10W mode allows for switching STANDBY on and off to troubleshoot tube issues. My hands are normal sized (size 10-11 glo...
I voted tight for both, but that was specific for the "modern heavy" stuff. I mostly use channel 2 in normal mode, and channel 3 I alternate, but tight mostly.

Hi there, You are spot on about the Output volume or master volume and gain. That has by my experience as well. I found that at home, at low volumes, channel 2 "CRUNCH" with gain at noon was just too weak, no sustain, no ooomph. But, when I'd gig, the amp just opens up and gives that narly classic r...
