2-Channel Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier (Rev G) - Demo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuo0ipj9qsU Hey friends! Just rebooted my YouTube channel (I'll be doing gear reviews/demos) and video #1 is of my old 2-Channel Dual Rectifier from the year 2000. Please check out the video and let me know where I could improve! I'm always looking to do better. Any f...

That's what the tech suggested. Took it in last week, fingers crossed I'll have it back soon.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions!

Re: 2-channel Dual Rec Troubleshoot - Loud 'Pop' On Powerup/

Well folks, it appears that it is not anything tube-related. I decided to just take all the tubes out and replace them with the ones in my Electra Dyne (which is working flawlessly). I also tried taking out the rectifier tubes and running it in diode rectifier mode. The issue persists. So looks like...

Re: 2-channel Dual Rec Troubleshoot - Loud 'Pop' On Powerup/

Huh, I hadn't considered this. It's certainly a possibility as I have no idea how old any of these tubes are. So essentially, if I have the amp switched to Diode rectification (which is the setting I use it on anyway), I can remove both rectifier tubes, power it on/off and see if this persists? I'll...

Re: 2-channel Dual Rec Troubleshoot - Loud 'Pop' On Powerup/

I think I have a spare preamp tube somewhere, I will try swapping them one by one tonight. I'm fairly certain it's not the power tubes - while I don't have any spares, I tried running half power and every combination of tubes I tried still had the same problem. Here's hoping a new preamp tube will s...

Re: 2-channel Dual Rec Troubleshoot - Loud 'Pop' On Powerup/

Actually, I can't necessarily verify that it's not one of the preamp tubes. So I suppose that's a possibility as well, considering the pop seems to occur whenever the preamp is engaged (taking out of standby) and disengaged (powering off the amp).

2-channel Dual Rec Troubleshoot - Loud 'Pop' On Powerup/Down

Hey all, As the title suggests, I would really appreciate some help troubleshooting a new issue I've been having with my dual rectifier as of today. Earlier, when I was playing guitar, I noticed the volume suddenly dropped slightly, and my tone became a bit more "woofy" on the low end - as if I had ...

Re: NAD! 2-channel Dual Rec, I think I've found the one!

Try putting it through a Mesa 4x12, you will be in awe and never look back. I've been considering a Traditional 4x12 (not sure the tone I'm going for calls for the immense bottom end that the Standard 4x12 brings) but I'm just getting a new band together and not even gigging yet - rest assured thou...

Re: NAD! 2-channel Dual Rec, I think I've found the one!

I'm loving it too, I've played more guitar in the last 2 days than I have in months!

The one thing I wish is that I had a band to show off my newfound tone haha. This is making me increasingly desperate

Re: NAD! 2-channel Dual Rec, I think I've found the one!

It's definitely cool that I got one so close to the end of production! Honestly, I don't mind the knobs too much. I really love everything about it the way it is right now, it just feels like a match made in heaven for me. I don't think I've ever "clicked" so well with an amp before! As an aside, I ...

Re: NAD! 2-channel Dual Rec, I think I've found the one!

Well, I've just checked inside and the date written next to the signature is 5/00, so I guess this one was made in 2000. Regardless, it sounds great and I'm incredibly happy to call it my own!

Re: NAD! 2-channel Dual Rec, I think I've found the one!

I'm not sure the exact year, but I just checked the serial number - it's in the 14,000s. I think this puts it well into Rev. G. I'll check the date tomorrow when I get a chance.

NAD! 2-channel Dual Rec, I think I've found the one!

Hey all, This is a very exciting NAD for me. I've always wanted to try a 2-channel Dual Rectifier as I'd heard they were the better of the Rectifier models. Recently, a great-looking one showed up on my local classifieds and I decided to pull the trigger. I was a bit hesitant at first as I tried a M...

Re: My experience with EL34's in the Electra Dyne

v30s + EL34s would definitely sound iconic (derivative)? I leave the 6L6s in because of those wicked cleans and I use the c90 because it makes for a really unique sounding amp. I realize I'm just echoing what screamingdaisy said but having an amp that sounds like no other is a really cool thing. In...
