Re: I bought 2 pre amps & 2 power amps!

I'll ask Mike about the GEQ's. My list is - balance ch.1 & 2, fix the fizz!, more "presence", as it is dull (could be related to fizz), Mid & Bass don't work, re-voice it so I use less GEQ (which again, may be related to the fizz), C++ it, and if possible, change the reverb boost into a lead boost. ...

Re: I bought 2 pre amps & 2 power amps!

In order of gain - #1 C++, #2 Blue stripe III, #3 Quad, #4 C+ #5 JP2C #6 Studio pre amp #7 Mark IV #8 TriAxis. I haven't dug too deep into the TriAxis yet, I've spent all my time with the Quad. Tomorrow I'm shipping the Quad to Mesa to have Mike service it.

Re: Quad vs. Mark IIc+ vs. Mark III who has compared them?

I just bought a Quad. Mine has the gain! It is in like new condition with the original tubes and sounds great. I have the master volume on ch.1 at 1.5 and the master at 9 on ch.2. It also has fizz, low end chug fizz, more than I like so I emailed Mike B. at MB to see if there will be a time in the f...

Re: New Old Amp Day: Quad

I just bought a quad 50/50 set-up myself. It just shipped out today and will take a week or so to get here if the post office doesn't lose it. Other than a Coli C+, this is about every Boogie that I've wanted, I've owned. edit; or so I thought! MF'er never sent the pre amp! I paid for it on Reverb.c...

Re: Coliseums

I don't know. The way amp prices are going, the cream always rises. I see this amp being "worth it". I'd take it over a Dumble or Trianwreck any day!

Re: Mark III reverb, can it be improved?

You can get one blah reverb sound with the built-in reverb but you could also throw a stomp box in the loop and have 20 bazillion sounds for reverb, I think. The Boogie Mark amps are known for bad reverb, it's a thing. Too bad someone wouldn't make one with a short/long spring option.
