Re: Of wolf and man - Metallica - Guitar cover- Black album

Wow, that's closer than I expected! It definitely has that "a million guitars" sound of the black album, haha. Interesting to hear the vocal track kind of isolated like that, too. That was a first for me. So what are your C.A.B. settings? I'm working with a Suhr Reactive Load and a Topedo CAB mysel...

Mark 3 + 4x12 Marshall 1960 cab

Yesterday I went to the studio to jam with a friend for the very 1st time! I was so stocked when I tested my mesa boogie mark III through a marshall 1960 cab! Excuse the crappy audio!

Re: Mark 3 vs studio preamp

A lot has to do with power amp, guitar, tubes and speakers. Also, how you ran the thing. I used the effects send for an output, but if I used the standard outputs, gain took on a whole new level, as in way more than human. There is unlimited gain if you turn the knobs up all the way, so much gain I...

That whole amp and cabinet weighed too much! Hmm that's strange... Some other folks had th...

Mark 3 vs studio preamp

Has anyone AB ed their mark 3s / studio preamps? I used to have the quad which I sold cause at that time I didn't need s preamp. I remember both channels were not as agressive sounding as my blue stripe.

Re: New to Quad Premp - have a question...

Hi sotosprince, thanks for your feedback. It's interesting that you used a parametric EQ to supplement/complement the graphics EQ Since my first tests, I've found some nice tones, too (good old 295 Simul Class amp, the later model with the front knobs). Finally tested it with an Altec ER12L (recent...
