Re: Not exactly my proudest moment....

I've always been an Ernie Ball player, usually the purple "power" gauge.

For the last 2 years or so, I've been buying their cobalt strings in the same gauge. And continue to be amazing at their brightness, volume and how long they hold these properties.

Re: What effects do you use and what it does for you.

This thread is a good read, getting some ideas from it. And I got some settings ideas from some of the other threads too, heading into a weekend practicing with 3 bands in 3 days so excited to try out some new things. I use an EC Pedals switcher for channel changing and looping the pedals, all the p...

Re: Which pedals work well with the V? Which don't?

Since I've had my V, I've been slowly letting go of the notion of using a boost/OD along with the gain channels, at least for rhythm sounds. I haven't found ANY pedals I like in the Vs loop, I'd experiment more with the loop, but I use a switcher out front that controls the v and all my pedals in lo...

Re: Foot Controller on or off your board

I bought an EC Pedals Super Switcher, like a lot of other switchers it can control the MKVs Channels, EQ and Solo with the 4 cable method. So my main A board (PT-3) is set up with my best 8 pedals (one for each loop on the switcher) and the switcher, which either changes channels and pedals in prese...

I made a thread that explains the FX pedals, switcher and it's use with my Mark V here:

Super Switching and a Mark V

I felt I needed a pedal switcher pretty badly. I have 2 bands, one where I almost exclusively use channel 3 of my Mark V, and basic classic pedals, phaser, delay, compression. and in the other band it's channel 2 almost exclusively and different combinations of the same FX. I use reverb here and the...

Re: Random Mark V chat...

I've been laid up with a hernia (back) for a few weeks, unable to get to practices for either of my bands, rough few weeks. So I've been reading a lot online and watching this thread pretty closely, (and lurking on this board) -making notes about how I might improve my sound when I got back. I'm ver...

Re: Pedal Tuner Help

I'm running my Polytune first, then OCD>Phase90>Carbon Copy> ISP Decimator>Amp. No trouble with that set up, but I have many brain farts, and hit the tuner, shutting down my signal, instead of the OCD, my ideal would be to run the Tuner Out from the amp to the Polytune, and move the tuner to the les...

Re: Master Volume not working.

Is your Effects Loop turned off on the back of the amp? Because that will disengage the Master Volume and Solo circuit leaving you with only the individual channel masters.

Can't help you with the popping on stand-by.

Re: Post Your Rig! Must Include a Mark V.

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/6681/imagenru.jpg I keep her in the practice space we time-share. Currently I'm keeping it very simple. From the LP it's just the tuner, DOD ZW Overdrive, a BBE Sonic Stomp and a EH Memory Toy analog delay. It's nearly always Ch3 Extreme, EQ Preset at 3o'clock, 90w Fu...
