Re: Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

I liked your demo! Sounds good, simple, straightforward, and probably more helpful than mine. I figured I needed to get something out there because no one else had. The RRP is a solid piece of gear when used in the right situations, plus, the build quality makes it simply a solid piece of gear. :sh...

Re: Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

Just did a quick demo of the Rectopre with Boss GEQ7 (it's a bit noisy but you get the idea) and the Torpedo Live. https://youtu.be/nVpQbyKxDSA Very nice! Raw Mode on Channel 2 never sounds like that for me! I used a boost (Fulltone OCD) for a little while but found I could dial in the boosted tone...

Re: Road King II - DISCONTINUED / Out of production ?

I still think the Rectifier amps are the least understood... I realize you wrote much more than I quoted, but I wanted to hone in on what I most strongly agree with, especially as it pertains to the Road King/Roadster amplifiers. I was lucky because I played a Roadster Combo that was dialed in real...

Re: Using a different amp

TGP is not the most empathetic website on the internet. They have a pretty good classified section though.

Perhaps you could have asked the owner of the Marshall to turn the knobs for you? If you were not allowed to touch them, that would have been a solution. 8)

The trick to changing tubes on the Roadster Combo is to turn the whole amp upside down. It makes everything much easier.

Re: Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

I wanted to address two things concerning my "Mesa/Boogie Rectifier Recording Preamp Demonstration." https://soundcloud.com/given-to-fly-was-taken/sets First, I added a recording called A Unique Guitar because everything is recorded dry and the only processing is a section in the middle that reverse...

Re: Mesa Rosette

I think this is an interesting pair of products and an interesting market Mesa has decided to enter. " The ROSETTE line is a dedicated acoustic instrument platform designed not just for acoustic guitars, but also for mandolin, ukulele, violin/fiddle, dulcimer, cello, upright bass and other uniquely ...

The Rectifier Recording Preamp was discontinued in February 2017. I timed this whole thing pretty bad.

Re: Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

screamingdaisy - You might be right. However, expectations change over time so perhaps you can help fill in the blanks. The Rectifier Recording Preamp was released in 2002 along with the first iteration of the Road King. I know this because I looked it up, but I distinctly remember the Road King bei...

Mesa/Boogie RecRecPre Demonstration – “Recording Direct"

Mesa/Boogie Rectifier Recording Preamp Demonstration – “Recording Direct” Now that the Triaxis has been discontinued, the Rectifier Recording Preamp has been receiving more attention than usual. Unfortunately, that attention is fleeting and people look to other products to fulfill their “Direct Rec...

Re: Roadster - out of production

I'm surprised they discontinued the Roadster and kept the Road King. I wonder how far in advance the decision to discontinue an amp is made? I suppose we could always ask Mesa. The Road King does have its own line of speaker cabinets which are used by all three versions of the Road King. I ...

Re: Mark V Effects loop

Are you only using the Mark V as a preamp? No speaker cabinet? A good way to get the signal out of an amp with a Slave Out...is through the Slave Out. In your case, you would need a speaker cabinet for the Mark V if you do not have one, but you end up with a Wet (2:90 Left)/Dry (Mark V)/Wet (2:90 Ri...
