Re: Will Mesa build...?

Just got off the phone with Mesa. I was told "unfortunately we don't build anything that is out of production, we only service them." Oh well...the hunt continues.

Re: Will Mesa build...?

Good to hear. I am hoping that since the current 2x12 Lone Star cabinets are the same dimensions as the out of production 1x12, it will just be a matter of a different baffle.

Will Mesa build...?

I have been searching the used market for a Lone Star, Electra-Dyne, or Royal Atlantic 1x12 27" cabinet without success. Mesa's Support Center mentions that they can/will build out of production cabinets.

Has anyone here had an out of production item built?

Just looking for any info on this. Thanks.

WTB: Electra Dyne 1x12 27" Combo Shell or Cab

Looking for an empty 1x12 27 inch combo shell or the 27 inch 1x12 cabinet. The cabinet can be loaded. Thanks.

Re: Lone Star chassis into Electra-Dyne 1x12 shell?

Thanks for the info. I figured since both use the same rack mount kit and have seen Electra Dynes in Lone Star head shells.

Lone Star chassis into Electra-Dyne 1x12 shell?

Can anyone tell me if an LSC chassis will fit into a Electra-Dyne 27" 1x12 combo shell? Thanks.

Re: Which LoneStar?

With a set of Yellow Jackets, you can run EL84s in the LSC. Found that out in the forums here. I believe you can even blend EL84s and 6V6s in 100 watt mode on the LSC if I remember correctly.

Re: Which LoneStar?

Since you mentioned a tighter sound, I would suggest a head and closed back cab or a combo with a closed back extension cab. I run a Lonestar (6L6) combo stereo with another Lonestar head (EL34) and closed back cabinet. I absolutely LOVE the sound. The beauty of the LSC is that you can run 6L6s, EL3...

Re: Which LoneStar?

ALWAYS listen to what Andy Timmons says! LOL I vote for the LSC. It has the headroom/cleans you're looking for and takes pedals very well. The LSS breaks up fairly quickly, which is great when you're looking for it, but hard to deal with when you're not. Tight low end, on Channel 2, might be an issu...

In my experience, my Deuce II was pretty useless in a home/quiet environment. It needed to be cranked to deliver the goods.

Re: LSC clean tones

You're right. If you're looking for huge clean head room, 6L6s would be better than the 6V6s. I've gotten close enough to be satisfied, but wouldn't call it "dead on." LSCs do their thing with a tip of the hat to the "blackface" amps, but if you're looking to nail that tone, I would suggest buying a...
