How long do you think it takes until the speakers are broke in? How many hours?
I wouldn't consider speakers to be "broken in" until there is at least 20 hours no them, and they will continue to mellow out from there.

Re: Mark V knobs

Did a similar thing with my roadster. I have since sold it, but it made it much easier to read.

NCD - Avatar Fane

I got a new 2x12 Vintage style cab from Avatar. I got it with the Avatar / Fane H75 and M65 speakers mixed. It sounds really good through my LSC. It is the first time that I liked my strat through channel 2 of the LSC. I was able to get some nice tones form channel 2. I really bought the cab to play...

FS: 2012 Roadster in Excellent Condition

After some deliberation, I've decided to sell my Roadster. I would prefer a local sale if possible. I live in NJ just outside of NYC and I am willing to ship it for someone on the board. I purchased it from Sweetwater and kept the packaging. http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o752/miannotta/Mesa%20...

LSC it's gotta be.
That's the right choice. I just started playing my LSC over my Roadster and there is something about Channel 1 at 100 watts.

Avatar G412 Vintage

I have it on Craigslist. I am looking to downsize. Happy to let it go for $400 to somebody local on the board.

Re: orderd a quad of G12H-75 Creambacks

Odd that I prefer the tone and character of the G12H75-16 (2x12) in a ported or open back vs the quad of 8 ohms in the 4x12 format. The Roadster really rips on the 2x12 set up (RA100 Combo used as a 2x12 for the Roadster). I still like the full V30 4x12 so I am glad I left the new cab alone. Even t...

Re: orderd a quad of G12H-75 Creambacks

I am also intrigued by this for a 2x12. Currently I have a V30 / GH12-30 mix in a 4x12. Overall I'm happy with the sound and happy with the increased bottom end that the GH12-30 brings compared to an all V30 configuration. Looking to downsize to a 2x12 and I was thinking that this would make a good ...

Re: Run a Roadster with only 2 6L6 tubes

a local "Mesa certified repair center" that is telling me my 6L6 tubes can only be replaced in a "quad set." Not all 4 tubes need to be matched. You need to have a matched pair in the two inside tubes and a matched pair in the two outside tubes. That being said, you can change out the inner set of ...

Re: Seeking info on the Black Shadow standard in the LSS

I couldn't take it myself. I decided to split them apart and make life more bearable. Best thing I ever did. I made a custom head shell from maple and just use the 2x12 cab with the guts missing. http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59571 Making an extra trip to the car doesn't bother me ...

Re: Roadster....first impressions from Noob

I've tried both ways. Channel masters way up and Output set at 9:00 and then Output set to noon and the channel masters set to a level that balances each channel with the other channels. I prefer the latter method. It sounds better to my ears. I also run CH1 and CH2 at 100 Watts (diode) and CH3 and ...

Re: Roadster Tweed Settings

The mid control in tweed mode is a powerful gain tool! I've noticed this with CH3 in vintage as well. Is it more pronounced in tweed mode? Channels 1 and 2 have a Fender-ish EQ right after V1a. The mid control is going to determine which middle frequencies get pushed into V2a hard enough to distort...
