Re: Mark 5 live use - couple of questions

you need more lower mids man. Lower mids wont affect the Low B on your 7 string

Re: Output questions

Ok cool "Personally i dont think there is any need to achieve power tube distortion on a boogie. Especially a Mark V. Lower the power setting to 10 watts (class A) if you really wanna achieve power tube distortion. Old Marshalls and Fenders needed to be pushed hard because they didn't have cascaded...

Re: Output questions

Ok I see. I thought you could maybe get more saturation by driving the channel masters harder and keeping the output master lower. Guess I was wrong. I guess the only reason to use the output master is to turn up all three channels together without having to adjust all three, one by one? Channel vo...

Re: Master Volume not working.

One of the big features is the channel assignable power and the popping renders it absolutely useless in a live situation. Imagine constant popping during a gig when the amp is cranked up. Its ridiculous. Have you ever even used a Mark V live? Not on stage no. The audience may not notice it but i w...

Re: Master Volume not working.

Just because Mesa explain's it in the manual, doesn't make it right. You don't read the manual before you buy the amp, right ?? I did, but I've owned a lot of Mesa amps and know what their manuals are like. The Mark V isn't my first amp that can switch between class A and A/B. They all pop when swi...

Re: Master Volume not working.

That is what bugs me. You pay all the money for this amp and one of the greatest features is the channel assignable power and yet you cant use it as intended because of the popping. You can switch between 45 and 90 watt modes without issue, its only switching in/out of 10w mode that produces the lo...

Re: Master Volume not working.

Thanks for the responses. I recently lent this amp to a friend, and when I got it back I was questioning if this and that sound was normal, or if he'd damaged it. But I shouldnt be concerned. Its a great amp. I guess your friend did not tell you he or she dropped it down the stairs before returning...

Re: Dual Caliber or Nomad series?? which would be better for me

I wasnt saying buy a Marshall, i was saying a Marshall suits those styles more.. And i concurred that a Stiletto IMO is the best buy for those styles.. Re: Dual Caliber or Nomad series?? which would be better for me

well the reason I want a boogie is quality, durability, features. marshalls arent "feature laden" like boogies are, they are so archaic in that respect. Marshalls are kinda inconsistant for tone and quality, you can get a good one or a not so good one. I realize some of those bands used them, but i...

Re: Articulate Distortion on Stiletto Ace I

What's up guys? Sorry if I double post on this one, I tried to find something already but to no avail. Alright, I just bought myself a Mesa Stiletto Ace version 1 1x12 combo with a 2X12 horizontal rectifier cabinet. It sounds amazing. It cuts through the mix so very well, and carries an amazing bot...

Re: Dual Caliber or Nomad series?? which would be better for me

Looking for a good used 2 channel amp. something for a general bar band type application. I am thinking DC3 or a Nomad 55. I would prefer a head and use a speaker cab I already have. but I am curious which amp would be better for me? they each have unique features Nomad has solo feature, DC has the...
