Re: Monte Allums NS-2 mod.
Thanks for the information! Definitely good to know. I was considering the NS-2 mod as the "free" mod for the special he is running now. Perhaps I will just mod another DS-1 and sell the one I don't need. I have already done the the latest DS-1 mod. And, the results were great. (although I do get th...

Re: Volume drop off when using effects loop
did you get to solve your amp problem?:( Yes and no actually. It's been a while waiting for an assortment of new tubes to arrive via post from several stateside vendors (I even got some TungSol 5U4Gs to try out later)... I have inserted the suggested chinese pre-amp tubes (GT chinese). And, rolled ...

Re: FX Loop mod information please
Dom, as always... good information. Thanks for being so thorough. I'm not one to insist on putting a square widget into a circular orifice. So, the GT-10 is out of the mix. I have my necessary effect pedals. I Just to figure out how to use the combinations I want when they are on different sides of ...

Re: FX Loop mod information please
Sorry. But, I guess this thread has become about effects now. But, I have one more question... What about the GT-10? It has all classes of effects built into it. If I chose to use it (instead of the various stomp boxes) Is there a graceful way to incorporate it? or will it always be a compromise no ...

Re: FX Loop mod information please
I really don't have a good answer for that Dom... The (errant?) assumption was that effects pedals go into the effects loop. Keep in mind I come from a solid state parallel universe where everything was "built in" and the footswitch was your effects pedal. I was not aware of guidelines for what goes...

Re: FX Loop mod information please
Thanks for the reply. What a relief I don't have to cut anything. :D But, you're right. I must be doing something wrong. The channel masters are rarely set above 10:00... I am wondering if I still have a bad tube in V3 or V4. I swapped them for Chinese as part of this process. But, maybe I missed a ...

Re: Reborn Rectifier Footswitch Cable question....
This is what I use. It still adds some width to the pedal. But, the right angle connector saves the day,

FX Loop mod information please
I have been searching the forum with every phrase I can think of in order to find the definitive scoop on the DR3ch MW effects loop situation as well as the mod information. I have a whole slew of Boss pedals as well as a GT-10 that all sound like junk through the FX loop. I'm under the impression t...

Volume drop off when using effects loop
i know I read about this issue here before. But, I cannot find it in a search... When using the effects loop on my DR3Ch (2011), the volume will drop to almost zero... Then after a few seconds... it will come back up. My feeble memory recalls that it must be a preamp tube (at V4 or V5??). Should I c...

Yeah Thanks also to Domct! for the "12312 on standby" hint. That did seem to alleviate the problem.KH Guitar Freak wrote:Mine doesn't pop if I select all channels beforehand in standby mode before turning the standby switch to the on position...
