Re: watzit? 2c+? mark3 prorotype?

That preamp board is the Mark III preamp board. That's an early Mark III where the silkscreening for rhythm 2 hasn't been added yet. That's all. It's a Mark III. Just a very early one. We've already been over this. Here in this topic. I stand corrected your Lordship. Please accept this humble apolo...

Re: watzit? 2c+? mark3 prorotype?

There is most definitely a "+" over the power cord.
It has a C+ face plate as well.
Looks like an SRG IIC+ (60w, Reverb, Graphic EQ) but I can't make out what model pre-amp board is in it.

Re: Can I use EL34s with my Blue Stripe?

I recently acquired a spotless wide-body Blue stripe Mark III. It does not have a simul-class switch or reverb and is currently loaded with a quad of 6L6's. My belief was that EL34s on the outer sockets was reserved for the simul-class versions but someone has a similar blue stripe for sale in the ...

Re: Does a mk2 head exist with reverb?

I agree. Looking at my schematics, there's not much to it. I m gonna check voltages and solder connections when I install pot. Thanks for the reply. Jim Did you ever get this fixed? If not it may be something as simple as a grounding issue. A very common problem with a simple easy fix. Search the b...

Re: DC-5 Head mounting screw location?

Thanks! It's all good, I'm not too concerned about tolex thickness but thanks for bringing it into consideration. It's sounding like a DC-5 combo or head cab is only 10" deep (outside edge to outside edge). Am I getting that accurately? Is that correct? If 10" is correct then the 2-3/8" from the bac...

Re: DC-5 Head mounting screw location?

Thanks jedi, Greatly appreciated! Considering it's 2-3/8" this brings up another measurement question: How deep is the cabinet? Since it's slanted at the top what is the distance from the back to the top edge of the slant? Also what is the depth/ distance from the back to the front edge below the sl...

Re: Where to get Mesa OEM tolex and grill cloth?

Yes, I found several places that sell Wine Taurus, but don't know if it's the same as Mesa sources from. I was hoping someone might know. I have yet to find an alternate source for Cream Black Jute Grill cloth. I'll keep searching. I've made many cabs using it and also seen many Mesa cabs that have...

DC-5 Head mounting screw location?

I need to confirm the distance of the back mounting screws on a DC-5 head This is for the two screws closest to the back of the amp. I'm looking to see how far in they are from the back of the amp to the center of the mounting screw. I have two conflicting measurements so hopefully someone can help ...

Re: Best Guitar & Pickup combo for a IIc+?

Good insights Markedman. One thing I found worthy of considering is what gear was available to Mesa at the time of the development of the C+. For example what guitar(s) and pickup(s) did they use during the testing and tweaking to get the C+ to get the sound/ tone they were trying to achieve. So muc...

Re: Mounting a Mark II head chassis in a combo cab?

Measure the distance (Left to Right) between the mounting holes on your chassis and let us know what you find. s-fresh is correct, sometime during the IIB period Mesa changed the mounting hole L->R spacing. Regardless of what the width is on your chassis.... I'm not sure there is enough metal on the...
