Re: PSA- DC-3 bias mod

But what I'm trying to say, is heat buildup the "only" issue here with regard to tube life? Is there something else about the bias mod that extends tube life? Because the way that my fan is setup, there isn't much heat buildup. It's way cooler than it was. A fan might help but the REAL issue is run...

Re: Frizzy distortion

12AT7's dont generally sub well tone-wise for a 12AX7. This is due to the other specs of the tube other than gain. The Mullard CV4024 is a noteworthy exception and fairly cheap NOS still. Fizzy is subjective but I wouldnt call my DC-3 fizzy. It can get a bit fizzy depending on my speaker choice, tube ...

Re: Tube Depot Bias point 24

You need to find out what the range is. I'd call them and find out. Then you will know if its a cool, middle of the road or hot tube. Bob

Re: .50 Calber + fizzling out (fizzle)

Well, I spoke with a tech from Mesa-Boogie and he also told me to check the effects loop on this amp. Apparently there is a switch type jack that gives some problems on this model. My only problem is...it won't cut out now. I have been playing for hours trying to make it cut out but it wont. Oh wel...

Re: Need help getting rid of noise in lead channel

I haven't played my DC-10 head in a while until today. It still sounds great but the lead channel has a lot of noise when the guiltar is plugged in that I don't remember it having. It's worst when the guitar volume is not on full but still noisy all the way up. Very hissy with occasional crackles. ...

Re: DC Mods that are easy to do!

Not sure. Recheck all your work. Took me a lot of trial and error to come up with a simple bias mod for the amp myself. Patience is key.

What is wrong with the stock loop? I use mine all the time no problem with GEQ's and an Ibanez DE7. Bob

Re: DC Mods that are easy to do!

The higher the gain is set the less reverb you get. I put a very high gain Sylvania long plate in my reverb position and that gave it a bit more. Bob
