Re: Equalize

Has anyone tried to further equalize their Mark V with a equalizer pedal? Yep. Had Source Audio Eq for Ch2/Crunch... tested also using it with ch3 but the built in GEQ worked best in that context. Source Audio is the "new hotness"...hehe. I got an older DOD FX40b I've yet to try. I used it on an ol...

I've been cranking this amp up today. Sweetwater is sending me two sets of matched six L6 tubes and I couldn't be happier!
Nice!

Re: IIC+ mode tip

I use a homemade dolly with bigger casters to transport my 2x12 cab and I use to couple it to the floor all the time. Somehow, laziness settled in and I leave it on the dolly the whole time. I will have to rediscover this again.

It was a blessing and a curse...haha.

Re: New boogie

I would like to do that. I do have some spare tubes from when I had a dual rectifier and I have two sets of matched 6l6 tubes from a dual rectifier tube change out and that would be enough to troubleshoot this but I can't find any fuses in the town I live in. Specifically 4 amp slow blow fuses. Wou...

Yeah...channel 2 / mark I mode has been my nemesis.
I thought I tried this, but will try again. Thanks for the tips!

I ask because I'm still not content with 'taming the treble' in this fine amp and am open to trying a speaker change.
The newer Mesa 6L6 441s will round out the treble too. Might be worth a try if you're re-tubing soon.

Re: Sound loss across all three channels

Hello all. I had to take the old girl to a tech. 200 miles. Diagnosed with a bad circuit. However, she is fixed and it sounds bad ass! Dude did a great job and I’m glad to be on her again. 200 miles!!! Good to hear you got 'er fixed!!! Could you let us know who you went to in case others have simil...

Re: Mark V Combo - Speaker Change

I went from a combo w/C90 to a head w/V30s in a 2x12 cab.
To my ears, the V30s seem to give more treble (or maybe it's just "brighter") than the C90.
I like the change though because it cuts better with a band and I felt that it added more "clarity" to my sound.

Re: Mark V question for newbie

Given that I have no interest in playing for a living and so my future consists of the weekly classic rock and blues jam with friends and possibly playing a few songs as a guest in a small venue, I dont need anything like a Mark V.; 90W is overkill. 90W is total overkill until you wanna play clean ...

Re: Just bought a Mark V 90 watt combo. Have some questions not answered in the manual.

1) Yes
2) Yes, just push through the Off position.
3) I'm not certain really. I leave mine on 90W unless a venue wants to tame stage volume, then I drop to 45W.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it! I'll give the amp to a tech and we'll check/replace them.
Ps. I can not see the videos. " Video unavailable This video is private."
No worries. I hope you get this resolved.
The videos should work now, let me know if they don't.

Re: Problem with my FX Loop?

I had a low hum going on with my pedalboard. I found out it was coming from patch cables going into my 4 way jack seen here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AAFPNJM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My patch cables were those right angle, pancake type ones but they were touching ...

Re: Mark V Clean Channel Cutting Out - Help!

Yep...relay switch... I had the same issue seen here (with and without bypass): https://youtu.be/-41mAFh-xDk https://youtu.be/wtQrx93XwjA I had to send it to Mesa for repair. Repair notes state: "Replaced relays RYC3E and RYC1C. They are in series between 3rd and 4th CH1 stagers. 1 of the[m] was han...
