Re: Marshall sounds from a DC-5

Gave up on that some time ago. DLS into the power in isn't bad but at the end of the day it's apples and oranges. Just got a Jet City on the cheap. Does the Marshall thing well plus that hot rod Marshall I love from the 80's.

Re: Quiet DC-5

I forgot to add I tried different speaker cables and a different cab. Granted, all worked fine on my other head.

Quiet DC-5

My DC has been on the shelf for a bit. Got a new amp some time ago and just haven't played it. That said, I plugged it in the same cabinet and speaker cable and the volume is all but gone. The clean channel is nearly silent and the gain channel sounds good just super super quiet. Tried a new set of ...

Doom/Stoner fans that use DC's?

Just curious if there's any Doom & Stoner rock fans using DC's out there. Truthfully that's what I got mine for initially and very recently have gone back to it for those sounds. My DC-5 has always leaned that way soundwise without much nudging.

Re: Marshall sounds from a DC-5

The Dirty Little Secret gets me close enough. Been using it with a 60's twin I inherited. Got to do a new gear day. Lots got left to the only other musician in the family.

Are you using the GEQ on the lead channel?

Subway Rocket value

Since there's no sub for this amp I threw it here. Anyone have any idea what a fair price for a vg condition 20w Subway Rocket would be? One for sale nearby and wondered what a reasonable offer would be. Non original speaker but a warehouse vet so I'm cool with that. With the lack of info I'm curiou...

Re: The Official DC Club

I've had my DC-5B Head since 2015. I've had the chance to compare it with some other Boogies: Mark IIIs, Mark IVs, Rectos, etc. and my amp just SLAYED them all! It's a shame these amps are severely underappreciated. I know exactly what you mean. Had mine since 1997ish. I've had a Mk III, 3 Marshall...

Re: DC Mods - Revisited...........Sort of.............

Better Reverb Mod: 1. Dwell or Speed of Reverb...To change the Dwell of the Reverb, experiment with the 1M resistor that ties Pin 2 of V5A to ground (Grid Resistor). I like 680K or 750K a little better than the 1M. It slows the Reverb repeats down a little bit and makes it a little more Fender like...

Marshall sounds from a DC-5

Just curious if anyone has dialed in a decent Marshall type sound with their DC amps. For me that's been impossible without running clean and running a Marshall type pedal in front.

Pedals or Line 6 M13

Been heavily considering selling my pedals (sans wah, tuner & EP boost) and buying a Line 6 M13. Would be playing this through a DC-5 with the serial loop mod. Any suggestions? Any M13 owners that could lend some advice? - Thanks!

NPBD - SKB Stagefive

Good bargin & I couldn't be happier. Couldn't get this quality & features from a more expensive used Pedaltrain/Voodoo lab PP+ setup but without the routing options or other extras. Hoping to have time to get my pedals wired up and ready to go. I used to own it's less robust predecessor the PS-44 bu...

Re: DC gain structure... more Mark or Recto?

That amp has Mark lV cleans and Rectifier gain, they make a great combo with a 4X12 cabinet. Your guitar of choice will be critical to the final tone, especially the low end chug. That's been my impression from the first time I played through one. Some of what I like about both amps but not too muc...

Re: DC-2b footswitch

This should work fine for the DC-2b. I've used it for other footswitches in the past. It's the same as the provided link sans cool Boogie logo. Adjust the resistors to how bright or dim you want them. 1.4k seems like it would be very bright. I lean towards 2.2k. Hope this helps. http://www.tciaffair...
