Re: Will any EL34/6L6's work in my Mark III?

Mids and high were suddenly much smoother. Tone seemed sweeter in class A mode, even at lower volumes. Am I onto something in going with four 6L6's for the lead tone I'm looking for? Or could it just be that the Mesa 416's aren't the right EL34's for me? I'm not a big fan of some of MESA's EL-34s. ...

Re: Mark IV A effects loop

Just as a followup...... It was the MXR analog chorus that was causing the volume drop in the loop. I moved it to the front and it sounds fine, actually better. I contacted Dunlop and they said the Rotovibe can go anyway, just however it sounds good to you. No real hard rules for that effect. So thi...

Re: Will any EL34/6L6's work in my Mark III?

I'm a big fan of the newer Tung-sols. I would go to Tube Depot. Just tell them the type of amp and they will match. I've been buying from them for years.

Re: Mark IV A effects loop

There is no hard rules....but the Rotovibe is a Univibe and all Univibe are a phase shifter. I don't know of any phase shifter designed to be used in the loop of a amp made by anyone. You could always ask Dunlop. Thanks. I have thought of taking it out of the loop, but before I built my pedal board...

Re: Mark IV A effects loop

You might want to try one pedal at a time in the loop and see what ones are having a problem. Yeah, that was my next step. I can say for sure it's not the carbon copy since I've recently used that in the loop by itself. So you really think the Rotovibe is best in front? I assumed that since it has ...

Most Boss pedals are buffered but not "true bypass" to my knowledge.
Thanks, hoping the buffer would help.

OK - so the master volume. That's what I think of it as.

Thanks

Harley Benton

My son is looking at a Harley Benton 2X12 cab, b/c of the Celestions but mostly b/c of the price. I've read good things about them but also several bad reviews on their build quality. I guess you get what you pay for. Also since one of their bigger dealers is in Germany, dealing with issues that may...

Mark IV A effects loop

So , it appears that I'm getting some minor tone suck in the effects loop possibly from one of my effects. I've recently built a pedal board. I'm not a big effects guy, but over the years accumulated some effects and really never used them b/c I was too lazy to get them out and hooking them up. Thou...

Re: New Fender Amps..

I really like the 68 Princeton reissue. Low wattage, but at around 7 (anything north of 4) you get some really good power tube gain.

Re: Life After a Mark IVb

What went so wrong that it cannot be fixed? Kind of shocked. The V sounds very close to the IV. You'll get more use out of channel 2. The lead channel on the V does not have a drive knob so it's like the drive knob on the IV permanently stuck on 7-8 pulled. If I didn't have my IV, I'd get an old Fen...

Re: Mrs. Smith

Has anyone watched Mrs. Smith (Steve Via in drag) on You Tube? It's pretty cool to see people's reactions to it - not knowing it's him. I just don't know why he's doing it. I have no issue with it, just wondering. If it was just a one off, I'd say it was just a goof. However, he's very well investe...

+1

I had a similar problem years ago.
