Re: Pedal board comparison

I've had two PT Pro boards, still have one.

I have switched to a Friedman board. I really like it. The two-layer design with the ability to add in spacers for things like wah or volume is really cool, and the boards are a great size and shape. I also recommend the power supply.

Re: pedal board question

Most of us do this. It means you need to run 3 cables from your board to the amp. I have had a couple custom looms made for this to keep it neat. Or you can zip tie them together.

Re: Parallel compression pedal suggestions?

I like the Carl Martin. Also the Unit67 has a very mild compressor that gives quite a lot of sustain, plus it has EQ, boost and a treble boost built in.

Re: Looper pedal users please chime in

That sounds a bit much to expect from a looper. You might try using a sequencer. You can probably set one up on an iOS or Android device at this point.

Also TC has a new Ditto that follows the drum beat. Pretty cool.

I think that guy made it himself.

You might just get yourself a Mesa Studio Preamp.

Agreed. Everything is easier if you get used to R -> L.

Kind of like a Fender Twin. Should be 2x12 I would think.

ACE combo vs Friedman Smallbox Combo

Had to try a Friedman. Just had to.

They sound fantastic. But the ACE can do all that and more. More gain available. More access to modes and tones.

I could be happy with either, but the ACE is a sick amp at half the price of the Friedman.

Re: Best Speakers For Stiletto Ace

The recto is a totally different amp.

I found that with bass all the way up, treble at 10:00 and presence between 10:00 and 1:00 the Ace is not tto scream-y.

Re: Best Speakers For Stiletto Ace

I've been happy with the V30, but I think I have a creamback laying around I'll try out. My issue with creamback is they tend to get tubby and the extra harmonics they add require a bit of volume. I also run the combo into a recto vertical 2x12 and the amp sounds completely different that way. Huge ...

Re: NAD ACE

Thanks! Loving this more and more as I get it dialed and add effects. Using the modes on channel 2 quite a bit. Might look into footswitching between ch2 modes the way I have my Einstein modded to footswitch through the ch1 modes. They are all useable with the same settings. Amazing that this amp di...

Re: F30 seems "hot"

Generally tube amps are space-heaters. Best not to push up against a wall, they need rear-venting to allow them to regulate temp. Mesa amps are also smaller than most, so many have fans installed to help with cooling. The 30W amp shouldn't dissipate tons of power as heat, but it does have a number o...

Re: The most British sounding of them all - Which Mesa?

Either Electradyne or Stiletto, depending on WHICH brit sound you're looking for.

I lean toward stiletto, since it gets plexi and JCM tones really nicely, but Electradyne is also very Brit.
