Re: Electra dyne big issue with speakers blowing out

So weird. To me, the crackling and volume fluctuation kind of smells like power tube failure.

Have you tried moving the voice coil manually by gently pushing on the cone? If the speaker is blown, the voice coil will rub and make noise

Re: Electra Dyne Volume Taper

The volume taper on these things is ludicrous. I have a 1 x 12, which is useable, but I found a torpedo live is the best solution to tame the beast!!

Electra Dyne Short Punk Rock Riff Demo

https://youtu.be/97juia7do7w I put this together for the Bare Knuckle Pickup crowd. I just thing this Les Paul into an electra dyne is pretty much the perfect punk tone. I'm using my torpedo live as well, which is a great monitoring and recording option. Torpedo Studio is way better but much more ex...

Re: Has anyone ditched their cab for a FRFR and IR setup?

I have a Torpedo Live which I use in specific situations. i.e. quiet practicing, recording, and playing in volume sensitive situations. It does not replace a cab but it drastically increases the versatility of a 100watt tube head.

Re: Electra Dyne + 4x12: which one?

The Electra Dyne is too bassy and the bass comes up as the volume comes up. I think the solution is to turn the bass down until it gets to where it needs to be. The standard cab is more scooped with more highs and lows. It is a bit loose or ‘saggy’ and can sound a bit boxy. The traditional rectocab ...

Re: My experience with EL34's in the Electra Dyne

My student has EL-34s in his Electra Dyne and he has a 2 x 12 Rectocab. It sounds absolutely killer and I really love it. The clean is still very good.

Gorgeous!!! I used to have the Dual version of this but someone head hunted me for it at the forums here!! I dig my ReVv Generator 120 but these amps are unique and really special.

Stick a TS9 in front of it and enjoy it!!!

Re: Electra Dyne Punk Rock Sound Demo

Ah yeah of course, I missed that you used the torpedo live. Sounds great, very handy for silent practice too. This is an absolutely astounding piece of kit and it's usefulness cannot be overstated. It's basically revolutionized owning large displacement tube heads for me. Here is a new mix of my li...

Re: Electra Dyne Punk Rock Sound Demo

The Torpedo Live is a reactive loadbox and digital cabinet / mic sim. It's not a dead ringer for an acoustic cabinet but it is quite convincing, especially in a mix! https://www.two-notes.com/en/torpedo-live These things are the solution for silent recording, late night jamming, and even stage set u...

Re: NAD ReVv Generator 120

Congrats! Those have definitely been on my radar. Ya, and with good reason. They're a super modern voice but they're bright with midrange instead of dark and scooped like ENGL et al. After spending more time, I'd say channel 1 is a pedal platform, channel 2 is alternate clean / overdriven / crunch ...

Re: New amp from Wampler

Cool idea but I am not feeling the price point. Channel 1 on a ReVv Generator 120 is designed to be a pedal platform and the other three channels are also awesome. I get what Sampler is going for but honestly, that is a bit steep of a price for the amount of features
