Re: Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

Is this a 2 channel or 3 channel amp? The 3 channel version has one triode of V1 used exclusively for channel one. If that specific triode should fail only channel one would be affected as you are experiencing and you could try changing V1. The earlier 2 channel amps did not do that, both channels ...

Re: Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

An update: I turned on the amp and switched to ch 2. Played it for half an hour without issues. Then I switched to ch 1 and, after a couple of minutes, the ground hum started. So I played with the ch1 volume knob and the hum disappeared when I turn volume up, but the issue wasn't finally solved. Aft...

Re: Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

If the FX loop is not Hard Bypassed, it’s tube buffer is still in the circuit regardless. When this happens again, flip the FX Loop to Hard Bypass and see if anything changes. If not, you’ve eliminated one of the preamp tubes and the FX Loop circuit as a source of the issue. If the amp roars to lif...

Are you using the FX loop when this happens?

Have you tried Hard-Bypassing the FX Loop to see if anything changes?
No, I'm not using the FX loop. There's nothing between SEND and RETURN.

Triple Rectifier ground hum issue

Hi guys! It's a couple of weeks that my Triple Recto sometimes has this ground hum coming out from the speaker. The guitar doesn't sound at all or sound like a broken jack when the hum comes out. It happens always when I was on the clean channel. Switching from a channel to another one seems to solv...

Re: Dual recto channel switching issue

A little update: after 2 or 3 days, and some toying with footswitch connection, it stoped switching channels by itself, for the time being at least. Now I’m even more puzzeled if it is just some weird situational thing or just postponed problem:) I had a very similar issue with my 2005 Triple 3ch (...

Re: Tight High Gain Recto Mods

I have a 2005 3ch Triple Rectifier and I'm doing some tone tests. I need to use the FX loop on (I've modded it to have a serial loop, I have a lot of modulation pedals and I really like the SOLO function), and I'm experimenting what's the best tone according to my ears. First, I used a very low mast...

Re: Dual recto channel switching issue

Hi. My multi-watt dual recto has got some strange channel switching issue recently. With fx loop on, footswitch connected, channels controlled from the fts, from time to time it changes from ch2 to ch1 on it’s own, just for a slight moment, and then reverts to ch2. Can it be something related to th...

Triple Recto issue: sound and light turns off for a second

Hi guys, It's a couple of days that my Recto is having this issue: after 10-15 minutes of playing, the amp starts to sound like there are some interferences, but not that loud, so I can still play. After a while, sound and channel light turns off for a second, like turning off the amp, then sound an...

Re: Tight High Gain Recto Mods

I have a stock 3ch Triple Recto. What mod can I do to have a "2ch" similar sound? Thanks! 3-channel Rectos have 20uF filtering at the parallel power supply nodes of the preamp while 2-channels models have 30uF in these positions. Swap the two pairs of parallel 10uF electrolytic filter caps in the p...

Re: The 3 Channel Dual & Triple Rectifier Guide

Hi guys!

I'm in Italy, I've found a Dual Recto with R0164xx, PT 562105.

I have a '03 Triple Recto, do you believe it could be a good choice over my Triple?

The guy asked 1200€.

It's a 120v release.

Re: Tight High Gain Recto Mods

I recommend learning a bit more about tube amps and electronics in general before you attempt to mod your amp. No offense, but if you're unsure of what to jumper, that suggests you lack the basic knowledge of reading schematics and signal tracing the PCB. It's not hard to learn, but it's essential ...

Re: Tight High Gain Recto Mods

I also tried to keep the master level as low as possible, using SEND at max and OUTPUT as needed. I have channel 2 and 3 masters lower than 10 o clock. This because I should then put the clean master at 11-12 (and the gain clean also at 12) to match the volume and it starts to have a sort of crunch...

Re: Tight High Gain Recto Mods

@ afu: It restored some of the body of the tone (say 100-200Hz area). I don't understand why exactly, because I figured that cap was responsible for the "fizz". I still have much to learn apparently. @ DS-1: I have not done any FX Loop mods, other than jumpering the cap on the Output pot. I'm...

Re: Parallel to series fx loop mod: question about master vo

The mod at warpedmusician needs something in the loop all of the time, but it sounds great. Solo and Output still work with it, but the Loop switch kills the sound. Getting the pot completely out of the way is the way to go. Put a jumper on the track. Easy. That's my blog, so I'm biased, but I stan...
