blowing fuses in the studio! help!

My dual rectifier has been working fine and the tubes are fairly new- and tonight, in the studio, it blew four fuses. Each time, it would stay on for a few minutes and I could play out of it- but it would blow. Any ideas on what could be causing this? I really don't think its the tubes, I got them f...

I always power straight off, and I don't have any popping noise- just a wierd whistling. I do all the repair work though on my amp, so I'm anal about discharging the caps.

I've done it before on my Dual Rectifier. It doesn't effect the tone at all, but you won't be able to switch the effects loop on or off with the included footswitch. The mod involves some rewiring on the MIX pot. Super easy. But definately get the schematic from mesa first.

Who is using JJ 6V6's in their Dual Rec?

I'm about to order some tubes from Bob over at Eurotubes, but I'm not sure if I should get the 6L6's with the GZ34's and run the amp in tube rectifier mode and EL-34 mode- or get the 6V6's instead of the 6L6's. I want a nice clean tone and a heavy distorted tone. Bob thinks I shuld get the 6V6's, wh...

Re: Does anyone actually use the Raw voice on their Recto?

I do. I tend to use it with the gain dimed for some stoner type stuff. Just wondering if I'm the only one who actually uses this voice? I use it a lot when I'm messing around at home, but I find the volume difference is a pain to setup in a band situation, even on both channels. Same thing with the...

Interesting. I don't really want to have a bias pot installed, but I do like the idea of getting cooler graded 6L6's and running them in the EL34 mode. When he says "cooler graded," what exactly does that mean?

EL34/ 6L6 bias switch, whats really going on...

I was trying my amp out with EL34's the other day, so I had the amps bias switch set over to "el-34," and of course when I put my 6L6's back in I forgot to change the bias back to 6L6.Now, leaving the bias set for el34s made my amp sound a lot better, more dynamic and punchy. My question is- how lon...

A little update on this- I pulled a rectifier tube when I pulled two power tubes. I just tried using the tube rectifer tonight, instead of the diodes- and the amp made this dying sound (like it was just put on standby). Is it possibly I still need both rectifuer tubes in there?>

SO, currently, because I blew them, i'm not running the Rectifier tubes in my Dual, but still the 4 output tubes. Which 2 should I pull to try this, and is it safe without the recto tubes in, i'm running it in the silicone diode mode. Also, do I change the speaker output from 8ohm to 4ohm, in the b...

While Im a 50w fan (based on practicality) before you pulled your amp down to 50w were you running it at higher levels? Honest question, because Ive never pulled an amp down to 50w and thought it actually sounded really THAT much better, besides earlier clipping, I find that I get a slightly bright...

Pulled tubes on my Dual Rec... Holy S***!

I recently bought a Fender Hot Rod Deville, and it was frustrating the hell out of me how the Deville had such definition and a really dynamic touch, while my rectifier always seemed lifeless and flat sounding. I decided to pull two power tubes to knock the amp down to 50 watts (since the deville is...

No, the feedback loop is part of the power section. In vintage and raw it's engaged, but it's removed when in modern.
What the hell is a feedback loop in regards to the rectifier? And what exactly does it do?
