Only selling because I have a Mark V head (and it's heavy). This amp has always been awesome!

Enjoy!

2 Bag End E-12B Cabinets $600

These are great cabinets. 200 watts each, bass or guitar. I have used them with my Mark V and they sound great. Check them out here:

Re: New to amplifiers. Considering Mark IV, or DC-5, or....

Did some research after I posted earlier today and I was wrong. There are 2 versions. I just thought they were the same amp with different on/off and standby switches. Mine is the B I guess. It has metal switches and I believe there is a stereo jack for the footswitch. I got a single button switch w...

Re: New to amplifiers. Considering Mark IV, or DC-5, or....

I own the Mark V and the DC-5. I don't believe the version 1 and 2 amps is accurate. I think that Mesa sent the amps with 2 different switches. A one and two button, respectively. I have the 1 button switch, but I believe the socket is ring-tip-sleeve (a stereo jack). I'll check mine later. The DC-5...

Re: Tube question

Please don't stick anything in the tube sockets to clean the contacts (if it becomes a problem in the future). You can kill yourself - at least that's my impression. I'm not about to find out the hard way! I had a problem like the one you mentioned on one of my other amps. I put contact cleaner w/o ...

I'm selling my DC-5 combo!

Please, no trades. I am the original owner. I have too many amps and need to make room. I also just don't want to carry it anymore. I bought a Mark V head about a year ago and will just keep that as my main amp. I want $800 for it. It works just fine and I'll give you some extra tubes. I have the fo...

Re: Mark V with 6v6 tubes

I talked to someone at Boogie on the phone and he said you can run 6v6 tubes in 90 watt mode on the variac setting with the bias set for 6l6 tubes. Haven't tried it yet, but I am really thinking about it. He also said to make sure you use Mesa tubes so that you do not invalidate your warranty.

Re: My first day with the Mark V and I'm really underwhelmed

I've had my Mark V for about 8 months now and I can definitely relate to what you are saying. The only advice I can offer is to spend as much time with the amp as you can. Try some EL34s in it. Try disengaging the efx loop, etc. Try triode mode. Try it at home alone and with a band. Do everything yo...

Re: ~~Mark V vs. Axe Fx Ultra~~

I had an Axe-FX Standard and eventually returned it. It is a great piece, more than I would ever need or use. In fact I returned it because I spent hours upon hours tweaking it, and I just didn't want to spend that much time tweaking. I'm just into that anymore and like things simpler (now I have a ...

Re: Help! I've got a problem with my effects loop on the Mark V!

Thanks. Is it normal for the loop volume to raise/lower the overall volume of the amp even when it's disengaged (via footswitch)?

Re: Help! I've got a problem with my effects loop on the Mark V!

Here's an update: I used a line level rack unit, my Hush 2C, in the loop and there were no problems with loss of volume (tone sucking). My concern is the loop volume. I just want to be sure that it is supposed to function the way mine does. I did not see anything about it in the manual. I also tried...

Re: In the market for an attenuator...need help, Mark V

I have a Weber MASS that works really well, but I haven't used it with the Mark V yet. I have, however, used it with my DC-5 for years and it has done a good job. Why don't you try using the Mark V in 10 watt mode? You can get some pretty good sounds from it, and it's pretty manageable. One thing to...
