WTT Mark V 25 Watt

OK guys I have had this a little over year, never gigged and maybe 10 hours on it if that, I mostly play my Roadking so this is just collecting dust. Nothing special about it just the typical black on black, original box and all accessories and paperwork. I also have two Mini Rec slant cabs, one in ...

Re: New Single Rectifier vs. my old Tremoverb and...

FYI I should mentioned I saw a lot of these punk bands before they got big, so all the could afford was probably the single at the time until they hit it big.

Re: New Single Rectifier vs. my old Tremoverb and...

... and I'm super impressed with the Single Rectifier! I bought it as a backup to my Tremoverb but now I'm not sure which amp should be the main act. I spent the weekend playing the Single Rec constantly, and comparing it to my other amps. The Single Rec has an overall brighter sound than the Tremo...

Re: FS: Royal Atlantic RA-100 Head

I see you have owned a stiletto in the past, how would you compare it to this? My one and only complaint about the stiletto is lack of low end but I make up by putting an EQ in the loop.

Re: New Single Rectifier vs. my old Tremoverb and...

Is it a version 1 or 2? Version 2! Speaking of which, I tried some Mesa EL34's in there and definitely liked the sound with those, but went back to the 6L6's for now. I'll have to compare them again with the amp opened up. So maybe the preamp design is actually slightly different from the Dual/Trip...

Re: why does the early 3 channel rectifier not get any love

... Just curious if you have ever played one of the original 3 channel rectos? Some of us in the community are convince the first years of the 3 channels where a bit different and sound the best, there is no proof behind it but these are players that have many rectos or had many rectos and i am one...

Re: why does the early 3 channel rectifier not get any love

True, talking about the old 3Ch Rectos (unmoded!), Modern orange is the closest to the 2Ch models. The orange channel sounded and felt always the best to me, even if the vintage mode didn't do exactly what I expected. I couldn't find the ultimate lead tone so I started modding to achieve that.... u...

Re: Mark V or Roadster for my needs

I've owned both and they both offer fantastic tones. But I think the question really lies with whether you can get use to not having the low mids you refer to. The Mark V is amazing and lead wise it wins hands down. You don't need a boost to get there. It also tracks amazing fast and therefore is i...

Re: Mark V or Roadster for my needs

I am putting money down on an amp tomorrow but am having a hard time deciding. I used to own a roadster put recently parted with it. I couldn't get any lead tones out of it that I could bond with. On the other hand for what it is , I really enjoy the amp. Would any pedals help me achieve an outstan...

Re: why does the early 3 channel rectifier not get any love

Re: Modern Ch2 - That's almost exactly the same as Red cloned to Orange on a 2CH. On a similar note, Vintage on CH3 is closer to the 2CH tone, but... it's not exact and really bright. Going by the tone recommendations in the manual, Vintage doesn't work as well for me. They basically kept it the sa...

Re: why does the early 3 channel rectifier not get any love

If it works for you, its nothing wrong about that. I just wanted to point out, those amps can be hard to dial in, and can be hard to fit smaller stages with a good sound. A Recto has its own unbendable character, if you love it go for it, if not look for something else. Many ambitious young players...

Re: why does the early 3 channel rectifier not get any love

I've seen jazz and country players gigging with 3 channel Rectos. It's certainly not a one trick pony. Saw James Brown, his guitarist was using a 2 channel Triple. Adam from Maroon 5 uses dual rec's A lot of punk bands/Indie Rock bands use them, examples Fall out boys earlier albums, New Found Glor...
