Re: MINI RECTIFIER® 25 or RECTO®-VERB™ 25

Having owned both the Mini Rec and the V25, I have to say the V25 is head and shoulders better, at least for me. I know a lot of guys love the Mini Rec / Rectoverb 25, and I'm not going to say it's a bad amp, I think it's pretty awesome too. But IMO it really needs an EQ in a way a rectifier amp usu...

Re: What do you prefer? Shred vs od or nothing?

I've used a recto for years before owning the JP2C, and I wen through a ton of ODs years ago looking for the right one for the recto. I settled on the Grid Slammer, as I felt it was a bit darker and had a bit more midrange growl to it than a classic tubescreamer. On the JP2C, I've been using the Gri...

Re: Power Amp suggestion for JP2C stereo setup

Fryette Power Station 2. It's tube, 50 watts, mono, and you can run your stereo out from an effects processor to it.

Re: JP2c bedroom volumes?

From my experience, Mark series Mesas are great at low volumes. You have to tweak a recto a bit for a low volume sound, but Marks are a bit easier to dial in a low volume sound. Just turn the master volume down ! :)

Re: Rectifier + Mooer Radar (stage sound performance and rec

Here's a simple way to do it and retain what you want. If you have any effects pedal that can split into stereo (like a reverb, chorus, or multi-effect pedal or rack), run it last in your chain. Run one mono output from it back to your effects return on your amp, run the other output to something li...

Re: Grid Slammer and 5Band EQ on Dual Rec

The Grid Slammer is my preferred OD for a clean boost. Just the right amount of EQ in it to give your sound a nice growl with a rectifier. The recto heads do not need an EQ in the loop. The amp sounds amazing with just an overdrive and a gate. The Mini rec however and rectoverb 25 however are whole ...

Ha! I've done pretty much the same thing with my triple! I went with the plastidip instead of the gloss paint, yours looks awesome too. Nice job!

Re: Mini Rec tube life

I am in exactly the same boat, I picked up a Mini Rec this past summer, and while I thought it sounded good with the tubes it came with, I noticed the label on the power tubes was curling up from the heat. Mine is from 2012, and I did a full retube with Mesa EL84 power tubes, a Tung Sol in V1 (which...

Red or orange channel Presence: 10 o'clock Master: 1 o'clock Gain: 2 o'clock Bass: 9 o'clock Mid: 10 o'clock Treble: 1 o'clock Bold, Hi Power (solid state rectifier) Most importantly, run your 808 boost in front. It's hard to not get a great metal tone with a good boost. The BB preamp, IMO, is a bet...

Re: Extra Triaxis Support for Rack

Since you have two, why not put them at the bottom, ontop of the 2:90? Also with all that extra space in there, have you thought of a smaller more mobile rack or maybe separating all that into two racks?

Re: 50/50 vs 2:90

The Triaxis is really loud as preamps go, and I can still get very quiet with my Triaxis/2:90 setup. So quiet, with a full-gain sound I don't wake my one-year-old in the next room. The 2:90 in Half-drive with the volumes barely on, no deep, no modern, is very low volume. Plus you get that great warm...

Re: Is the Triaxis for me?

You'd be surprised how similiar the bottom end of a roadster is to a triaxis/2:90. Both have booming bottom end; The Roadster in Modern mode, the 2:90 in Deep and Modern with a Lead 2 setting on the Triaxis. Both are crushing sounds and the Triaxis and Roadster are very complimentary. The Roadster i...

Re: HELP: MY RACK IS A FLUSTERCUCK!

How about the Triaxis, 2:90, G Force, and your power strip. That's what I use and it's all I need. If you think it's congested now, what the hell is going to happen when you load it with all that unnecessary nonsense? Also, when playing live, who's moving that 1000 space rack up onto the stage or ou...
