thats more of a distortion/preamp issue. If you did that test with a clean tone it would work just fine.

ldr's would be a great guess based on what you are describing. They're not hard to replace with a good iron and a steady hand... space is tight in mark4.

the switching problem could also be the pot. especially since the foot switch makes some change... and the pot does nothing.

I decided to replace the power tube socket that is burned up.. so I ordered it from mesa along with those resistors.

I know where to get resistors :).. I just wanted to make sure they werent the cause of my power tube issue. I couldnt tell if they were part of the bias circuit or not. I really cant make out the hand written schematics I have found. Since they are part of the power supply for the relays I...
