I completely agree here. The DR seems to be very cab sensitive. I used a 1960a cab for awhile and hated the tone I got from it. As soon as I got a std mesa cab a nice tone was fairly easy to find. Lately I have been using a Genz Benz Gflex cab with fantastic results.

LMAO That is exactly what I said when I jammed on the GB for the first time. I just looked at it and had a huge grin on my face. My wife was laughing at me cause I was like "WTF?" :shock: I don't think the Gflex needs a speaker change at all? The stockers sound nice paired with my Dual Rec.

I boost my mesa with a TS9 and still run my channel gain at around noon. The ISP is the way to go to stop it from feeding back.

The mesa cab is the only way to go.

The marshall cabs can be run in either 4/16 ohm mono, or 8ohm stereo. This is the 1960 cabs.

How is the power and grounding where you are at? When I lived in an older home I would get some odd sounds on occasion.

I just JJ6L6 and ECC83s and play metal. For awhile I was using a JJ integrated quad set 2x6L6 2xE34L. That was really nice for a hard rock sound, actually anything really.

Turned out just being a fuse. A BIG thanks to Rich at Mesa/Boogie for helping me troubleshoot the amp.

I don't think this has anything to do with the quailty of JJ's. Actually I just ordered another matched pair of JJ 6L6's to troubleshoot with. Tubes are tubes, gonna get a bad one every once in awhile.

Yes, I even tried a known good power cable. Thanks.
