    Mark V distasteful overdriven buzz

Hey all. Recently I took my Mark V 90w head out of storage, where it's been sitting for 9~ months. I warmed it up and started playing, and while the cleans sounded great, and the heavy metal channel 3 sounds ruled, the light to moderate overdriven tones didn't do it for me (mostly what I use...

Mark V Problems - 3rd Channel Hum + Volume Drop

I tried swapping the power tubes and everything was going fine for a while, until I heard a loud humming sound. I checked the tubes and one was lit up, very bright orange. I decided to order a new Quad of Ruby 6L6GCMSTR's from Dougstubes.com. Don't know why a tube is dying after only 6 months...

Mark V Problems - 3rd Channel Hum + Volume Drop

Hey guys, it's been a while since I posted here. I've had my Mark V for 4 years now and I still love it. I replaced the tubes about 6 months with some tubes selected on dougstubes.com like I have before, with the help of Doug. I haven't replaced my pre-amp tubes in about 2-3 years. Anyway...

    Tubes Dying, recommendations?

It's been so long (2 years) since I've used Mesa tubes, so I can say exactly what the changes were, but I definitely noticed positive changes. I changed my preamp tubes out at the beginning also, to what doug recommended with his Mesa preamp tube "cocktail". SED Winged =C='s are indeed expensive...

    Tubes Dying, recommendations?

Hey guys, two years ago I bought a quad of SED Winged =C= 6L6's and EL34's from dougstubes.com. I went through the 6L6s the first year, then put the EL34s in and finally I think they are starting to go. The tone is weak and dull, and the volume is low. I emailed doug and found out he doesn't...

Mark V Cover - Wish You Were Here (Incubus)

there isnt a gigantic difference when changing tubes, but I definitely can tell an improvement that I enjoy and love. It's not day and night though.

Mark V Cover - Wish You Were Here (Incubus)

I'm aware I'm playing it slightly differently, but thanks for pointing it out in case I didn't know :) Definitely get a tripod, I have a really shitty $30 Dynex tripod that I really should upgrade, considering my camera is rather expensive, and if it fell, well....I'd probably be crying lol...

    What fuzz?

I have a Zvex Fuzz Factory and I love it. To some people it may sound too trebly and thin, but with the right settings it is a monster. I use it either through channel 2 with medium to low gain, or on the clean channel.

Mark V Cover - Wish You Were Here (Incubus)

Hey guys, just thought it would be cool to share my cover of Wish You Were Here by Incubus. I recorded it with my Mesa Mark V, 2011 PRS Custom 24, and a SM58 miked up. Let me know what you think. Constructive criticism/appreciation...appreciated! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnddCsBUwXE

AC/DC Cover + Mark V: Check it out!

I'll try that out Chester, thanks. My amp behaves a little differently than stock Mark V's due to the fact that I changed all the tubes, SED Winged C 6L6s and a variety of pre-amp tubes. It kicks major ***, I can't believe I own such an awesome amp every time I turn the volume up. Sweet...

AC/DC Cover + Mark V: Check it out!

Hey guys, I haven't been on the forums that much, but I'm new to micing amps, but I think I got a pretty good tone out of my Mark V for my cover of "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC. Check it out here and tell me what you think: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eXQrBjkAoE. The beginning of...
