Have you tried plugging your tuner in to an outlet that isn't on the same circuit as the amp? I have a couple bits of gear that will hum if they aren't on seperate circuits.

That could have been v.2. Google shows several people who say they got them in the mid 1990s, but that's mostly just forum posts. An actual source would be nice one of these days... I've emailed MESA/Boogie to see if they can shed any light on it.

Th0rr, do you warm up your amp before playing? Tube amps need a warmup period... I'm not sure of the exact time, but I usually give it 10-15 minutes. The fact that it goes away after about 10 minutes makes me wonder if it's warmup related.

Then what you're getting is different than what I'm getting. Do you use any effects pedals?

I sometimes have something similar on my Rectoverb 50 combo. Try dialing your guitar's volume down to zero when this happens. Is there a change?

Other tubes will work if they're in the right bias range -- I have a set of Winged C 6L6s for my power tubes, and it sounds very good.
