    I Chose The Mark V

Late to the party, but congratulations on your new Mark V amp! I have owned my Mark V combo when it was first released, and continue to be impressed with it to this day. The Mark V is by far the most versatile 3 channel footswitchable amp available on the market IMO!

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

Lots of good comments provided by all! I also prefer the crunch mode on the mini and the IIc mode on the big V. Mostly due to the inherent differences in power amp section. Glad you are enjoying your V:35 head 79sg!

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

Dodgion556, I fully agree with everything in your recent post (except that the Big Mark V is strictly for loud volume on big stages)! More to follow on that one. The only real negative that I have for the V:25 or V:35 is that the awesome sounding "Crunch Mode" is in Ch1 and for those of us...

Played a Mark V:35 Combo Today!

Yes, I do think it possible to get a decent clean sound from Ch2 with the gain set very, very low in 2C or Extreme modes, but they won't be nearly as good as the "Clean or Fat Modes" offered in Ch1 based on my experience with my V:25. One could also experiment with the GEQ set according to...

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

All good points Dodgion556 and others! 1). I agree there probably aren't many V:35 owners yet, let alone those that have played one. 2). I also agree that most people that currently own a V:25 with cab probably won't buy a V:35. However, I might be an exception because I like light weight...

Express Plus - Mesa Boogie's Sleeper Amp?

I agree suede11 and stinger....there are indeed some beautiful sound offerings in ALL MODES set to 5w! I find the 5w setting to be especially pleasing when playing alone at home. However, when I am playing with my band.....the power switch quickly changes to 15 or 25w modes and the...

One more question OP....are you playing the amp through a speaker (either the combo or head with cab) or just Cab Clone? Just curious.

    Express 5:25 no low end?

My 5:25 Plus 112 combo has fantastic bass response.....especially for a 25w amp! I am thinking any lack in bass response would be mostly due to the 10" speaker? OP, do you have the amp setting firmly on the ground or do you have it elevated? The best bass response of any combo amp is when it...

    Mark V:35 Review and thoughts

Welcome to the forum Dodgion556, and EPIC first post! 8) While I don't own a V:35 (yet anyway), I did audition one recently and thought it sounded fantastic in several modes! I do own a big MkV and the V:25 and love both of these amps too because they are similar yet also different. That said...

Check out the crunch mode of Ch1. One of my favorite modes with my V:25! 10w should be plenty and just dial it in to your taste. Do experiment with this amp!

Mark V: 25 New Owner: Mid Control question

xtratorque, If I understand your question correctly my answer is yes. Basically, on Ch1 of the V:25 the mid control acts as a regular mid control from off to noon (0-5) and as a midboost control from noon to full (5-10). So a mid setting at noon in Ch1 of the V:25 would be the maximum mid...

Great that you are getting tones more to your liking gjohung! Yes, the "FAT Mode) offers a divine clean sound. Also, don't overlook the "Clean Mode". I use it often for my clean sound when playing with a band as it cuts through better. Yes, Mk IV Mode has more gain than Mk II Mode. I like...

Do you guys own more than one Mark V?

Congratulations! Yes, the Big Mark V is an awesome amp! I still own the one I purchased when it was first released. Personally, I currently have GAS for the V:35 combo that I auditioned last weekend! I am considering selling my V:25 (also a great amp) or something else to help purchase a V:35...

Played a Mark V:35 Combo Today!

Hi gjohung, I am not sure how much I can help because I am not sure what sounds you desire from your V:35, and I only gave it a test drive so far. First of all, nothing at all wrong with a Strat through the Mark Series! My primary guitar is a "superstrat" with HSS pickups. Anyway, I do have a...
