Diamondplate faceplate came loose all by itself

Howdy all, I attempted to adjust the clean volume last time I played through my recto head.. and I heard a bit of a scrape and thought, what the? Turns out the faceplate had dropped and was resting on the knobs... The thing is.. I think the silver diamondplate looks pretty tacky, and here...

    Triple Rec with EL34's

Hey rectocaster, I play a range of music from RHCP, tool, faith no more, deftones, CoB, so I enjoy both heavy tones and light overdrive with single coil pups, compressor & chorus pedals. I'd say go for the EL34s, they are definitely nastier.

So sick of my dual rec. Is a Peavey 6505+ in my future?

To tighten up your tone, first and foremost, get those 6L6s out of there. Rectos sound way better with EL34s. My single rect. has Tung-sol EL34s & EH 12AX7s and it sounds great, way better than with the stock 6L6s. Again, the actual cab may be a significant contributor to bad tone.... Are you...

    Triple Rec with EL34's

+1 After using EL34s, I will never go back to using 6L6s.

    Cabinet info

I'd go with the vertical recto 2x12, if you are definitely set on the recto series. I've got a vertical marshall 2x12 and it sounds tighter, and is less beamy & bassy than my recto 2x12" horizontal. I also used to an ENGL Pro vert 2x12, and that was a good cab, projected better than the...

    VoodooMan Switches Updates And Beyond

I emailed the company approx. 2 months ago to see whether they sold a solo 50 5-pin footswitch replacement... and no reply. I am now that glad that I have not had any more contact with voodooman other than that. I wish those who have lost money the best of luck in bringing a shyster down.

    F-30 Footswitch schematics

I emailed mesa trying to get a hold of footswitch schematics, but they don't supply them. Someone would have to bust open their footswitch and draw the circuit.

Which EL34 tubes are good for a Dual Solo three channel?

My single recto came with Tung Sol EL34s, they sound pretty good to me. :) Also, the pre-amp valves are all EH12AX7s.

Single Rectifier footswitch help (CIRCUIT PICS INSIDE)

Hey all, The footswitch works fine, the channel & solo both switch, the channel LED works, but however, the solo LED was not working so I pulled the footswitch apart. Here's what I found.... Notice the black wire is NOT connected. When I touch the tip of the wire to the lug just to the right...

Roadking 2x12 cab - good choice?

Hey all, I would like a 2x12" that is relatively easy to transport, and I noticed a roadster 2x12" for sale. Is this cab a good choice for say a Marshall JCM 800 2203, and a peavey 5150II/6505+ head? I've already got an ENGL 2x12" vertical cab (which I love), but it's 36kg and a ***** to...

Is the Peavey 6505 cab any good with V30's???

Yes those cabs are built fairly well, better than the standard marshall cab at least. If it's cheaper than a mesa cab go for it. You might like the Sheffield 1200 speakers, they were designed to sound like "worn-in greenbacks". Maybe you could drop in 2 v30s and try an X pattern?

Dude.. I'm sick of your sig already :P

    Which 2x12 Cab? Advice needed!

Ahh I've been researching this for way too long.. here's what I thought. Being in Australia, I considered the available: Orange, Avatar, ENGL & Genz Benz G-flex. I ended up with an ENGL 2x12" vintage (v30s) for less than the others though, so I did pretty well. The orange ppc212 is a bloody...

    Dual Rec. VS Roadster...

+1 For 10% more in dollars you get at least 25% more amp.

What is the best 2x12" for the money?

That's the exact same cab, I think it is the vintage version though, which has "14 times folded siberian birch" vs "standard plywood". They are heavy little buggers. I've tried it through my laney and it sounded quite good. Did the powerball head fit on top alright?
